He stood there looking at Lauren with a look of confusion on his face. His eyes shut as he took in a deep breath, holding it for a minute. Slowly, his eyes open, and he seems to be taking her in, like truly taking her in. His eyes moved down her ever so slowly, inch by inch, when his eyes landed on her belly. His stare lingering there for a second longer than I liked, I stepped up, slipping my arm around her, placing my hand on her belly as if I could protect it from his eyes. She leaned into me, lifting her hand, placing it flat on my chest.
