When I reached the room, Lauren was curled in the bed, both arms wrapped around her belly. Scooping her up, I rushed her to the clinic. I linked Jimmy to call Laurens parents, let them know what was happening. She is far enough in that she would be alright if she went into full labor, but they felt it would be better if she was able to carry a little longer, and it was safer for the pup to wait.
"I think it's best if you stay in the clinic, just in case you do go into labor early, so that you need to be monitored around the clock."
