Lauren hurried us out of the pack house, Dante with us, and we showed up at Tony's in only a few minutes. Lauren swung the door open before I had the car to a full stop, making me scold her. Dante giggled from the back, seeing his mother act all crazy,
She made a face at him, making him laugh harder, and for me, she stuck her tongue out at me as she rushed from the car towards the pack's clinic,
Getting Dante out, we made our way in, finding everyone standing in the hall. I could hear mummers, then I spotted Tony, who was sitting on the floor, head in his hands. His father kneeled next to him. Lauren was talking with her dad, but she turned and sank to her knees, wrapping her arms around Tony, pulling him into a hug. Tony leaned into her, holding her just as tight.
