Voices, Mumbled and low but loud enough to reach my ears, What was going on? Were my siblings in my room? What are they doing here? God, they will be into everything,
Someone shouted, Good lord, what are they arguing about? Must they do it in here? Where was Mom? She would run them out of here,
Blinking my eyes open, I shut them quickly; that was bright. Lifting my hand to cover my eyes from the scorching light.
"Lauren," Mom's voice was right beside mine, and I felt her hand on my cheek. "Hunnie, can you hear me?"
Can I hear here? What is she talking about? didnt she hear all the yelling,
"Make them stop," I whispered as I squinted my eyes closed again. Their voice was like nails on a chalkboard,
"Who hunnie, Lou sweety, can you try to open your eyes again?"
