Chapter 75

1161 Words

Emma's POV Lita had been silent about what happened all through the night, and it was eating me alive. So when I woke up this morning, I went straight to my drawer where I’d hidden the black knife. If she wasn’t going to say anything, fine. I’d handle this myself. I grabbed the cold, black dagger, its strange weight sending a chill through my palm. Without a second thought, I headed for the door. I wasn’t sure where I was going—maybe to chuck it into the deepest pit I could find—but keeping it here was out of the question. Just as I reached for the door handle, her voice finally sliced through the silence. “Where do you think you’re going?” She sounded calm. Too calm. “You know exactly where I’m going,” I snapped, not bothering to hide my irritation. “To get rid of this evil thing.”
