3. Having lunch with Megan

Oh thank heavens Dan is here. Biology class is about to start and I am very eager to tell Dan about Megan. he is late to class today, I wonder why.

"Hey buddy" Dan said as he sits down next to me and face me.

"Why are you late to class?" I ask corking my eyebrows.

"I had to check out some chick I saw in the hallway" Dan said smirking.

I rolled my eyes. Dan unlike me is interested in girls. He has dated a tons of girls. I wonder what made girls attracted to him. Was it his blond dirty hair that has curls, his brown eyes, or his slightly muscled body? Or all?.

"Megan came to me yesterday at the library", l said with an expressionless face.

"What?. Dan said with a surprised face. He paused. What punishment did she give you".

"She didn't punish me.... I think. She said that Mr. Bradford said I should tutor her in biology for a month", I said.

"Oh a month of torture, sorry bud" , Dan said grinning.

"Bad luck for me" I said bending to pick my books from my bag. Then I heard Dan say 'speak of the devil'. Who is he talking about. I looked up from my books and saw Megan and a boy. They entered into the class. She walked to the teacher, Mr. Bradford while the boy followed behind her. What is she doing here? We didn't have any classes together. After some whispering. Mr Bradford faced the class and said "they were moved from their class to this, so they will be having classes here from now on".

"Could this day get any worse" I whispered to Dan who in return shook his head.

Then I regretted what I said as Megan made to the sit by my right. Oh no she's coming to seat here next to me. Why why why why why why why why. This day is so not my day.

I could hear Dan snicker as Megan sat on the seat on my right. Dan was on my left. I am so going to kill him later for feeling happy at my misery.

I would have been in an advantage in this tutoring thing if she was a normal girl. I mean I am to tutor her in biology and she sits next to me in biology class, the tutoring will be made easier, if I help her or explain things to her during class. But I know I cannot do that without fidgeting and probably pissing on myself. What if she gets something wrong and I would have to correct her. Would she get angry? Or will she punish me for giving her an assignment. I hate being punished.

My thoughts were interrupted by the Bell for lunch break. Well I guess I was thinking throughout the whole class. Not that it will affect me, I had already studied the topic ahead.

I stood up to leave, when Megan stopped me.

"Can I join you for lunch?" She asked in a surprisingly calm voice.

"Sure" I said showing a fake smile as I quickly left the class.

I looked up and saw Megan with her tray of food walking towards me.

I was the only one sitting in the lunch table. Stupid Dan making excuses to leave me to my fate. He is probably going to laugh at me and I am going to kill him.

"Hi", Megan said as she sat on the seat opposite me and dropping her food tray on the table.

"Hi" I muttered trying to stay calm as possible. If fear could kill, I would be dead by now.

The greeting was followed by silence as Megan munched into her hamburgers and her coke. It was kind of surprising that she ate like that. Because of her perfect figure I thought she would be on a diet and eating salad and water like other girls do.

"Where are your friends?", I asked. You can't blame me, that question has been bugging me.

"Lynch, he has moved out of town with his parents. And Pat, she is sick with the flu", she said as she resumed her eating.

"Mhm" I said as I ate my pizza. That makes sense.

"So, how are we going to start the tutoring?", She asked. She is done with her food and is staring at me. It made me uncomfortable.

"Em.....em.....I...I am free in the evenings after school and on Saturdays". I said stammering. I am also done with my food and was faced down playing with the Hem of my shirt. Is this embarrassing? I don't know.

"Seriously? U are free basically everyday?", She said surprised.

"Well, I do my homework in school or sometimes with Dan after school, and I don't go anywhere apart from Dan's house and mine. So am always free" I said still playing with my shirt but I could feel her eyes boring into my head in shock.

She attempted to say something but kept quiet.

Again a moment of silence, I prayed silently for the Bell to be rung soon. I can't stay here.

"Okay. I am free on Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays. I will give you a ride home so I will know your house.", She said as she stood up to leave.

"Okay" I said now looking at her. She had a blank face while you could see shyness written over mine.

Is it normal for a boy to be shy? I don't know.

She was leaving but then she stopped as she turn to me, smirking.

"I only know you as nerdy boy, what's your name?" She asked corking an eyebrow.

We have been talking but she doesn't know my name. Well that explains why she calls me 'nerdy boy'. I thought she just formed the rude name being a badass but no she honestly didn't know my name. Wow!

"My name's Jason walts" I said.

"Okay. My name's Megan George". She said as she exited the cafeteria.

Finally the Bell rang for lunch break over.

...............my nerd?..............................?

"Shut up Dan or I won't hesitate to kill you. You left me all by myself" I said angry. I just finished explaining what happened at lunch break and he is rolling on the grass laughing.

My outburst made him to laugh harder and he was rolling like a dog.

We were at the football field, he just finished practicing and I ran to tell him what happened. I honestly regretted my actions. I don't see what's funny.

After few minutes of laughter, he regained his composure.

"Sorry bud. I can just imagine your hilarious face" he said chuckling.

"Yeah so funny"I said sarcastically.

"Hey today is Tuesday, so u are starting tomorrow, so prepare to teach the baddest girl in school biology". Dan said grinning.

"Yeah sure" I said.

This is going to be a memorable year.
