The smell of that steak was still teasing my nose, my stomach growling loud enough to make me wince, but I didn’t even get a second to think about eating. Silvia’s hand clamped onto mine, her fingers tight and urgent, yanking me toward the door with a force that made my arm ache. My legs felt heavy, still sore from whatever had happened before, but I stumbled after her, my heart racing so fast I could feel it in my throat.
