Lisa, Jisoo, Seulgi, Chaeng, Irene together with Krystal and Amber were sitting on the bleachers at courtside, opposite to the players' bench. Jennie was nowhere to be found and Lisa was looking for her since she woke up without Jennie by her side. The cheer squad wasn’t needed anymore and, ironically, they should be cheering by now since it’s the championship, but the school council decided to exclude cheerleaders from doing so. ‘Cheers from students gets way more hype. And it’s genuine’, as Jisoo stated during their meeting. Their friends were ecstatic about the idea, especially those who were at the cheer squad because they get to enjoy watching. Moments later, Jennie appeared from the entrance of the gym, looking for her friends. Once she spotted them, she strutted her way to them and greet them one by one. Lisa was a bit surprised when Jennie and Krystal talked for a bit before Jennie walked towards Lisa and kissed her on the cheek. Amber noticed it and teased Lisa. “Ohh, you didn’t tell me your girlfriend is the legendary Queen bee.” She said smiling, “Which, of course, next to my Krystal.” Krystal nudged Amber on the ribs and the latter grimaced. Lisa then laughed at her. “Oh, I wish she is.” “Lisa.” Jennie warned the taller girl. “We’re used to Jennie’s behavior towards Lisa. Get used to it soon, Amber,” Jisoo said. The sitting arrangement: were from the left bench, Jisoo, Seul, Amber, Lisa, then Jennie, Chaeng, Krystal and Irene. “Well, it’s my pleasure sitting with the ‘populars’,” Amber said, chuckling. The group looked at her, cringing. As much as it was true, they never liked to be called that way. They tried to brush it off and just blend it with everybody else at the university. “What? Look around you!” Amber exclaimed, “They were all taking a glance every now and then.” Lisa then whispered something to Amber which made the latter giggle. The other two: Jisoo and Seul joined in and minutes later they were all laughing and wheezing. The girls looked at them (tops haha). Almost all of the students that were close to their bench were looking amusedly at the four idiots. Jennie pinched Lisa on her thigh, which made the taller jump in shock and in pain. Jennie glared at her, which meant she should behave herself. The others laughed at Lisa when she silently nodded. “Who’s the boss now?” Jisoo mocked, then Amber and Seul laughed, Lisa just glared at them. “Bring out the boss bitch.” Lisa muttered, but Jennie heard her so she smacked her on her head. The four (tops) started laughing their asses out as Lisa hissed in pain but couldn’t complain because it was Jennie. Lisa settled with a simple apology as she caressed her head. Then the girls continued to talk, some girly stuff that the other four couldn’t relate to. “Hey! So, I heard you love to play, Amber?” Jisoo asked. Amber nodded. “I’ll create a server one of these days and let’s play together!” They nodded excitedly and continued to talk about game stuff while waiting for the game to start. Honestly, they never liked the idea of being in a gym full of students, but they had to ‘coz Jisoo is the President, then Krystal, her vice and Jennie, Chaeng and Irene were in cheer, so the others just tagged along. Then they heard a whistle indicating that the game would start any minute now. The MC announced the players and the teams who will be playing tonight. Loud screams and cheers erupted when the players emerged. Amber, Lisa, Seul and Jisoo scrunched up their faces in disgust. Lisa looked at Jennie when Kai was about to get introduced but the cat-like woman turned her gaze to Lisa and mouthed ‘what’. Lisa was surprised and shook her head vigorously; Jennie found it amusing so she reached for Lisa’s face and caressed it like she was a baby. Lisa smiles sweetly at Jennie. Jennie was lost again. She let herself get lost in those pair of doe eyes she adored. Forgetting everything around them as she stared and stared, her heart thumping at her chest. A soothing thump, only this younger girl could make her feel. Jennie stared with such adoration in her eyes, she never did to anyone, even with her friends. Nor Kai. Heck, she never stares at the guy for more than a minute. She couldn’t, there was nothing to stare at, not when her eyes found its haven. She decided that she wanted to stare only at her. So, she stared, lovingly. But what was stopping her? Kai. She had to do this and she had to succeed. On the other hand, Kai jogged towards her teammates as his number called. He raised his hand and his fans went wild. Kai smirked. He looked around, looking for a certain brunette. Then his eyes landed on the couple who were staring at each other like no one was around them. Kai furrowed his eyebrows and his fist balled as jealousy ate him up. He was getting furious at that second, luckily, Bam called him as they formed a circle to say a little prayer. “You’re smitten, Manoban.” Amber told Lisa when the latter finally looked forward after their ‘moment’ earlier. She just smiled, never denying that fact. She was never good at hiding her feelings, she never did make an effort to do so. She was an open book, everyone liked her. She was adored by students because of this, unlike Jennie. Jennie was mysterious. She holds power in every movement. She was stoic, she never let anyone read her. She was reserved, she never liked to associate with anyone other than her friends and the cheer. But she associated with Kai. Why, you may ask? She needed to. The familiar whistle blew around the gym as the players scattered in the middle, in their respective positions as the referee stood in between two teams, ball in his hand. The ball was lifted high, thrown in the air. The game started… (Imma skip the game… It’s not of importance) With 3 seconds remaining in the fourth, the game was tied at 90. Both teams were tired, heavy sweat running down their shoulders. The ball was in Kai’s. Kai was confident, he decided to be selfish. Bam was open in the middle, but Kai shot the three. He was selfish. The other team blocked the shot, then stumbled down and fell awkwardly. The crowd gasped, Kai was not moving. Jennie stood up to get a better view. Lisa looked at Jennie. Lisa was jealous, not the right time to be, but she was jealous. Jennie on the other hand, stood up in reflex. She was never used to seeing players get hurt, so she stood up, unconsciously. Unaware that someone was staring at her with jealousy. The referee blows the whistle and announced a foul. Kai lifted his hands forming a fist as he was happy with the result. The crowd cheered. Jennie sighed and sat up. Amber nudged Lisa, “You okay?” Lisa nodded, smiled even. But the smile did not reach her eyes. Jisoo was staring at her, clueless. So, we skip Jisoos’ reaction. Kai positioned himself at the free throw line. Time stopped at .3 seconds; one swish is enough to win. And he did. He did all three, the crowd went wild. The team ran in the middle, celebrating. We won; we are the champions. Everyone was happy, including Lisa and her friends. The ‘populars’ stood up, getting ready to leave. But wasn’t able to, not yet. They were shocked, they were flabbergasted at the sight. Jennie couldn’t help but squeal in surprise as she was being twirled around by Kai. Kai’s hand was wrapped around Jennie’s waist, twirling in happiness. His chin was lifted, looking at Jennie with all the smiles. Lisa was stunned. She did not expect such publicity. Seul, Jisoo and Amber were at her side immediately. As if guarding her, they shouldn’t though. She only wanted her heart to be guarded, but they couldn’t. So, she started to leave the gym. They tried to stop her, but the girls shook their heads no. Said she needed time, so she stayed. Jennie tapped Kai’s shoulder to put her down, unaware that her Lisa had left. Kai obliged. He put her down, he was so happy. Jennie put the smile on her face, the same smile she'd been wearing around Kai, it was sweet but forced. No one knew except her friends. Kai leaned down to kiss Jennie, but Jennie was quick to react. She tilted her head sideways. Kai’s kiss landed on her cheek instead. Kai furrowed his eyebrows; he never got the chance to kiss the brunette’s plump lips. But he was patient until Jennie was ready. “Congrats, Kai.” Jennie simply said, holding his cheek in her hands. It was rough against her touch. Not like Lisa’s. Lisa! She turned around to where Lisa should be, but she wasn’t there. Her friends were there, staring. She said a quick goodbye with Kai and walked towards her friends with urgency, her eyes show concern. It was the only time she let her face show emotion. But it was not the first time her friends saw it, but definitely the first for the students who were looking at them. Kai was left dumbfounded in his spot. He looked at Jennie, leaving with her friends. He planned to date Jennie after the game. The game was dedicated to Jennie, but she left. Kai sighed. “I’ll have her tomorrow.” He mumbled and jogged his way towards his team. “Where’s Lisa?” Jennie asked, worried. Her friends smiled and told her it was fine and just leave Lisa tonight. Jennie nodded halfheartedly. She was worried. She knows Lisa saw that and it troubled her. “I thought you and Lisa are together.” Amber blurted out; Krystal nudged her. Jennie looked at Amber, wanted to say something but decided not to. Jennie didn’t look back; she did not see a group of pair of eyes staring at her back. “Is everything ready for tomorrow?” Kai asked his friends. Their eyes never leaving at the group in front of them, walking out the gym. Then they all nodded. “It’ll be perfect,” Sehun said. One of Kai’s friends. Bambam saw them and decided to walk closer to them. But he halted when he hears something. “Get your money ready. I win.” Kai, with a smug look on his face. Bam furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, but did not make his presence unknown. He pretended to talk to his other teammates. His back faces at Kai’s group. Sehun chuckled, “She wasn’t yours yet. Your money will be yours once she says yes.” Are they talking about Jennie? Bam thought and continued to eavesdrop. “I’ll get her yes and so is her body.” Bam’s knuckles turned white as it forms a fist. His face reddened at the realization. His face contorted with anger. He wanted to punch the guy, but he thought about it. They were at a public eye. Bambam rushed outside the gym. His eyes searched. He had to tell Jennie. He needed to warn his friends. How did I not know this? He never changed! His feet ran, he searched for his friends. Jennie was with them. I need to tell them! He turned to the corner; he saw them. His heart thumped, he sighed, relief. They were still walking, talking animatedly with each other. He ran towards them. “Jennie!” He called, yelling through the crowd. He was panting. Jennie turned around, she saw Bambam as he jogs towards the. She was oblivious. When Bam reached them, he pants. Trying to catch his breath. “Hey. What’s wrong?” Jennie asked. Their friends looked at him. Curious. Bam reached for Jennie’s arm. Desperate to talk with the brunette. Jennie looked at Bam, getting worried at the second. Her mind thought about Lisa, so she asked. “Is this about Lisa?” Worries then crept into her face. Bam shook his head, no. The brunette heaved a sigh of relief. “Please, I need to talk to you.” He pleaded. His eyes were distressed. Jennie nodded, looked at her friends who were waiting, anxiously but nodded nonetheless. They trusted Bambam. Bam dragged Jennie into a secluded area, where no one could hear them. “What is it?” Jennie asked, completely disturbed by her friend’s actions. He was in a panic. “Calm down.” “Jennie, it’s about Kai.” Jennie became serious at the mention of his name. ----- “What was that about?” Amber asked, completely clueless about the group’s drama. “Some drama, shit.” Seul said, then laughed. Jisoo did too. The girls shook their heads. They were worried about Jennie. Yes. But they know Jennie, she can handle herself. She wasn’t Jennie if she couldn’t. “Hey! Let’s crash at Lisa’s!” Jisoo suggested, which Amber and Seul nodded, excitedly. “Is she there though?” Amber asked. Jisoo just shrugged her shoulders. “Who knows? Let’s play there, I know her combination!” Amber shook her head at their silliness. “Baby… Can I go with them?” She asked Krystal. Krystal’s face heats up at Amber’s endearment. She still wasn’t used to it. “Okay.” Krystal agreed, said it softly. She was shy. Completely different from her persona. She was never shy. She was never like this. Even with Kai. Kai was a bastard. He never loved her, he played her. She was angry, hurt. But Amber was there. She never left Krystal. She pursued her. When she saw the bruises, she was furious. She wanted to kill Kai. But Krystal assured her. Everything is under control. Amber believed her. But she won’t let it slide that easily. “Is Ms. Jung, shy?” Jisoo teased her Vice. The others giggled, she glared at Jisoo. ---- “Yo! Lisa’s here!” Jisoo announced when she saw Lisa sulking on the couch. Their friends barged in and made their way to Lisa. Staring down at the younger girl. Lisa was irritated when she saw Jisoo opening her door. That midget! And the audacity to just roam around my kitchen! Lisa thought pertaining to her crackhead of a friend. They walk like they own my room! “Are you okay?” Chaeng asked. Lisa forgot that there were people staring down at her. She nodded. She did not want to answer. She looked around and saw no Jennie. Must be with Kai… She thought. She smiled bitterly at that thought. Her friends made themselves comfortable. They got rid of the coffee table and put it aside so they can sit the center, making a circle. Jisoo and Seul emerged from the kitchen with a bunch of beers on their hands and tequila. Amber was holding snacks. She shook her head. Amber easily blended with my two i***t friends. They were turning her into one. Lisa joined her friends. They were enjoying, they bonded. It was refreshing for them. They were so happy talking some random stuff. They were laughing at their silliness, Jisoo being an i***t and Seul being, of course, an i***t bear. Then they heard the front door open. They listened. Jennie then emerged from the door. She looked around, her eyes widened at her friends. She did not expect them to be here. She came, hoping Lisa would be there. And she was there, but with her friends. They smiled at Jennie. Jennie noticed the empty bottles. Oh, they’ve been drinking. “How was the talk?” Irene asked, worried. Lisa looked at Irene questioningly, but the latter was unaware. Jennie shook her head and sighed. She sat down beside Lisa. Chaeng scoots so Jennie could make herself comfortable. Chaeng saw something. She squinted her eyes at Jennie’s neck. Has it been there earlier? I didn’t notice it before. Chaeng poked her friend’s neck, Jennie jumped at the sudden touch. She looked at Chaeng, surprised. But Chaeng was looking at something else. “That’s a hickey.” She stated, she knows, of course. She’s not an i***t. Jennie’s eyes widened. Panic was evident in her eyes as she touched the part where Chaeng had touched earlier. “Don’t deny it.” Chaeng knows her friend. Jennie cursed under her breath. She was caught. Lisa, an i***t, hurt herself by thinking that it was made by Kai the bastard. She scoffed. The others looked curiously. They were somehow surprised that Jennie had a hickey on. Jennie is a virgin. Jennie was innocent. She never let herself close to anyone, let alone touch her. Except when it comes to Lisa. But seeing the look of the younger girl, they knew it wasn’t hers. So was it Kai? They thought. Jennie felt Lisa scoff and she furrowed her eyebrows at her. “It’s… nothing.” Jennie softly said. They didn’t believe her. So they pushed her. “Did Bambam do that?” Irene asked, because she was with Bambam. Who could’ve been it if it was not Bam? Lisa’s ears perked at the man’s name. It wasn’t Kai. She was surprised, she looked at Jennie, flabbergasted at the information. The others were quiet, silently listening at the talk. Jennie felt Lisa’s eyes burning at her. So she stared back. She saw Lisa’s questioning doe eyes. She knitted her brows together. “Bambam did nothing.” Jennie stated, telling it straight to Lisa. Silently telling her that it was hers. What an i***t. Jennie thought. Lisa did not get what Jennie’s eyes were telling her. She was jealous. “So was it Kai?” Krystal was shocked. Jennie furiously shook her head at Krystal, she glared. She knows better than that. Jennie thought again. Chaeng gasped and so was Irene. “Who was it then? You naughty bitch.” Irene said, teasing. The three idiots weren’t talking, they were munching as if they were watching a movie. “Yeah, who was it, Nini?” Jennie caught the sarcasm in Lisa’s voice. She was getting mad at that second. Is she that i***t?! “Are you seriously asking me that, Lisa?” If Lisa’s voice was full of sarcasm, Jennie’s was laced with venom. Lisa was taken aback. She was scared at the human cat. Irene, Chaeng and Krystal were curious. The three idiots giggled at Lisa’s misery. “W-what? I’m curious!” Lisa said defensively, but Jennie was mad. She tilted her head for Lisa to get a better view at the bruise. Lisa looked, stared. Not knowing what Jennie was on about. The others were watching the two. The f**k is going on? Jisoo thought as much as everyone else. Yeah, what is going on? “You seriously asked me that stupid question, Lisa?” Jennie pushed, getting angrier. Chaeng, Irene and Krystal’s eyes widen at the realization. They waited for any of the two. The three idiots, four, including Lisa were still clueless. Jennie’s face reddened, remembering the events last night. She was naughty, alright. But right now, she was mad. Mad at the culprit who put the nasty hickey on her neck. Mad at Lisa for accusing her of such a thing. Mad at Lisa because she was an i***t and she had to say this out loud, in front of their friends. The three idiots' jaws dropped. “You did this, Lisa.” She said through gritted teeth. “And you have the audacity to accuse me of such a thing?” Jennie burst out. She hit Lisa’s arms. Lisa shielded herself from the attack. She was guilty but she was happy. Her heart burst with happiness. Not only did Jennie deny her accusations but she said it in front of her friends. Speaking of them, their faces was funny. Their jaw dropped and their eyes were wide. Lisa wanted to laugh but Jennie didn’t stop hitting her. So she caught Jennie’s wrist. The hitting stopped. Jennie panted; her strength drained almost instantly. Her cheeks were flushed red. Both in embarrassment and anger. Jennie hasn’t told anyone about her affair with Lisa. It was private, it was her dirty secret. Now, everyone knew. Everyone was thinking. And hell would she be mad if everyone started imagining it, especially the chicken and the bear. She turned to the two, their faces were still surprised. She picked an empty can and threw it at the two which who were sitting together. It made contact to Jisoo’s shoulder and bounced to Seul’s cheek. The group got back to their senses. They started to tease Jennie. Jennie’s cheek turned more, reddish. But they did not stop teasing, not before Amber talked. “Uh, I thought Kai was your boyfriend?” They stopped. They looked at Jennie. Lisa was happy, but it was ruined again. Fuck you Amber. Jennie was instantly put in a hotseat. “Of course,” Jennie said, her voice low. She was merely heard. Lisa’s heart broke. Of course, how could I forget that. But Jennie wasn’t finished with her sentence. “Not.” Lisa’s eyes found its way to Jennie’s again their who were fidgeting at her seat, her head hung low. “What do you mean, ‘not’?” Lisa asked, Amber and Lisa were the only oblivious ones. Their friends know, of course. Kai and Jennie were not “together”. “I said, he is not my boyfriend.” Jennie said, firmly this time. It’s no use in denying the fact. She had let Lisa teach otherwise for too long. But she wasn’t finished yet. She had to do something first. Lisa’s heart thumped against her chest. She was shocked, true. But she was happy. She was ecstatic. We weren’t cheating on Kai then! “Jisoo told me, you were a ‘thing’.” Lisa said, she quoted. Jisoo snorted. Lisa’s gaze turned to Jisoo, who was giggling. Lisa’s brow furrowed. “I said a thing. I didn’t tell you they were together.” Jisoo said like it was obvious. “You’re an idiot.” She then said, mocking. Lisa made a move to stand up but Jennie held her hand. The others were laughing, including Amber. “You all know?” She asked her friends. They just nodded. “And you didn’t tell me?” She was betrayed. Her friends snorted. “We didn’t know you thought that way. You really are an i***t for assuming,” Seul added. They laughed again. Then Lisa’s eyes made contact with Krystal. She remembered the time at the gym. The one-time Krystal talked to Jisoo. That can’t be. Lisa remembered. “You knew then, don’t you?” Lisa accused. Krystal nodded, knowing full well what Lisa was talking about. “I asked Jisoo. You were the only one who thought differently.” She said it like it was nothing. “So, I was an i***t then.” They all nodded. “So why can’t we be together?” Lisa blurted. The atmosphere turned awkward; it was quiet. Jennie looked around for help, but her friends didn’t want to interfere. Jennie contemplated. She was thinking about how to put it. She wanted to tell Lisa, but she knew Lisa would do differently. After a while of pondering, she finally opened her mouth to talk. “I’m not ready.”
