Eden Day Seven Stryker ran back down the several flights of stairs, past the door to the cells, and down several more sets until he pulled up short in front of a metal door, propped slightly ajar with a length of brown leather. His heart pounded wildly. What if she was dead? Were they too late? Sam gave him a look that said whatever happened, they were in this together. They entered. His wife was standing next to a man typing at one of the computers, a long knife in her hand. Stryker let out a strangled cry and she turned, her face lighting up like it had when he’d asked her to marry him. The next thing he knew, she was in his arms.
