Chapter 19: Date Night I stood on the sidewalk for a few moments, staring up at the Redbury’s distinctive scarlet exterior. My date awaited me in one of the suites upstairs. I could only hope he’d chosen to meet me here because he wanted to eat at Cleo, the Middle Eastern restaurant at the front of the hotel. I wasn’t about to hop into bed with some stuffy old fellow who couldn’t even be bothered to show up at the auction—or even a hot, young guy if he thought he was God’s answer to porn directors. I’d dithered over my outfit a bit. Should I go casual or dressy? I finally hit somewhere in the middle, with one of my all-purpose suits that should work no matter where we ended up eating. And I hoped that would be fairly soon, without a lot of messy conversation or propositions (of any sort)
