Chapter 9

Chapter 9 I could not believe this was happening. My world was crumbling apart. My head was spinning in circles. I didn't know how to defend myself at this point. Now I was sitting here, just sitting here. He has forced me back down into my chair. "Would you ever want to come stay with me? For a few days? Sorta like a vacation. You wouldn't have to go to school. And it's all expenses paid!" His icy hand firmly gripped my shoulder. I tried not to look up at him. I imagined he was looking down at me, though. I simply winced a "no" sound. "Hm, no? Well I have a lady friend, too. You might like her." He seemed hesitant, even though he acted confident. I rapidly tried to think of ways to escape. I knew screaming would fail. He would simply slip his hand over my mouth. I could not just run away. His grip was too tight. I c****d my head slightly to the left. I peaked towards the counter where you check out books. There were no librarians at all. I slowly scanned the room for anyone. Anyone, anyone who could help me. But the library was suddenly deserted. "Looking for someone, eh?" Adam asked. I gulped. I was not going to say anything. "Oh, you must have a mommy or daddy right? Where are they?" I still was silent. "Tell me." He squeezed my shoulder. I didn't react so he did it again. "Ok, ok. My mothers in the restroom." I sighed. "And I don't know what's taking her so long..." I said under my breath. "I see! We better get to moving then!" Then he reached down quickly and grabbed my wrist. For a split second I saw his face. He still wore the black sunglasses. I tried clinging to the seat with my other hand, but it was no use. He was too powerful. I started yelling, as loud as I could. "Help! Someone, anyone! Call 911! Ahhhh!" I threw myself back and forth, squishing and squirming. We passed through the doors that I entered earlier. The doors that I entered with my mom. Who would have guessed that I would later exit those same doors with my attacker? "Please, help!" I started screaming louder this time, now that we were outside. I saw a couple, passing by on the sidewalk. "Hey! Help me! Please, call 911!" They stopped walking. Finally, I got someone's attention. "Dont worry. I'm her father! She's just being ridiculous, you know kids." Adam said. "C'mon Crissy." Crissy? What is that? Some nickname for me? He does not have any right to give me a nickname. "No! I don't know this guy!" That must have really ticked him off. So he launched me over his shoulders. "Ah!" "Oh Crissy! This is such a fun game we're playing!" I pounded my fists angrily on his back. He patted my back. This is not a game! This man is insane. Well, well the couple walked away. Real nice Adam. There goes my one chance of getting away from this creep. I still don't even know what his real name is. "Lets go." He put me in the back seat of his car. It was small and incredibly dirty. He shut my eyes so I couldn't see the exterior of his car. It wouldn’t have made much of a difference really. After he tossed my in, he locked the doors. He walked around the car, and then unlocked the doors again. I rubbed my head gently. This was all giving me a headache. Adam rearranged his mirror so he could get a full view of me. "So Crystal, your probably wondering what we're going to do first?"
