Chapter 15
I pretty much watched television for the rest of the day. Of course, I didn't keep watching the news. It was too much. Even though they said they would tune back later. I watched mainly TLC and whatnot. It was about five o'clock and was once again reminded of what I forgot was too come.
"Jay just texted me, he's on his way back now. " I had some how fallen into the imagination that I would just watch tv for the whole rest of the day. But no. Jay was going to "get to know me better" and run errands with me. What fun.
"Now please be good. Just try. For me?" Frankie said.
"I don't know what'll ill do. If he bothers me a lot today, I'm going to do something about it." I don't really know exactly what I just said. I guess I meant that if he pisses me off, I'm gonna freak. That is most likely going to happen.
"He's back. Here's your coat.." Frankie pulled out a random coat from a trunk sitting by the door. It was probably Mary's. I didn't want to ask though because it would creep me out to much knowing I'm wearing a dead girls clothes.
"Ready?" Jay said immediately as he walked through the door. "There's no time to loose!" He grabbed my arm and pulled me out the door. But he leaned back through and whispered something to Frankie. I couldn't make out what he said.
"What'd you just said to her?" I asked. I tried getting his grip off of me but it was no use. He was too strong.
"I don't even get a nice hello after not seeing you for hours. I spent today working my ass off to provide for this family."
"We're not family." I snarled.
"Ha, we'll see." Jay was pure madness. Every word that came out of that mans mouth was of pure madness! We are not and will never be family. No way, no how! He needs to get that throw his thick, dumb, head. He needs to get a lot of things actually throw that head of his. Like how I'm not going to be here for long. And how I'm not going to be his slave.
"Get in." He shoved me in the back seat of his car. It was still just as messy as yesterday. Before he got in the drivers seat, he handed me a scarf. "Put this on." I gave him a confused
look.
"What?" I said.
"Ah, I have to do everything myself don't I?" He got in the backseat with me. Him being so close to me made me extremely uncomfortable. Jay wrapped the scarf around my head and then neck. After that he rummaged through the crap on the ground and found some sunglasses. He then place those carefully on my face.
"Now don't take this off, or else." He stared me deeply in my eyes. I turned to the window and sighed. Jay got in the front seat and began driving. This was clearly a disguise. So no one would recognize me. Since I was all over the news and everything. I guess that makes me kind of a local celebrity.
"We're going to get my, or yours now, dry cleaning." What a weirdo. He got clothes dry cleaned for me? Ew.
The dry cleaners was nothing much. Just one asian worker at the desk where you pick up your clothes.
"Pickup for Redding." He used my last name. How did he even know my last name? This guy really has some technical stalking tactics I guess.
The worker handed Jay two long button-up coats, a little girls dress, and some scarves. I don't know why he went through all this trouble just do dry clean that stuff. I don't see the real point.
"I need to get go get some stuff from Giant Eagle now. Just food stuff. Your going to stay put in the car." Yeah, right. Clearly when he locks the doors from the outside, I'll be able to unlock them from the inside. I think that he believes I am younger then 12. I get almost straight A's and I'm definitely an i***t.
We drove silently to giant eagle. He got out and locked the doors, but he pressed the lock button twice. He walked a few paces, turned around and gave me a firm look. Then he turned back and kept walking. I waited until he got into the store and went into action. Of course, my plans failed. Somehow I could not escape the car from the inside. Must be some special lock he did. I searched around for something to break the windows.
The hammer! There was a hammer somewhere in the car yesterday. I found it! It was tucked under the passenger seat. I examined it carefully and swung at the window. I shut my eyes and scooted back assuming glass would shatter. Nothing happened. I took another whack at it. Yet again, nothing. He must have spent a lot of money renovating this car to perfection. It was totally incapable of escaping.
I got another idea. I could just ask for help. I know those people walking by the library were no help, but I could just try at least. The parking lot seemed deserted. And it was, for five minutes. Then I saw a girl around the age about 18 or so. She got out of her car and started walking towards the store.
"Hey! Help! Over here!" I shouted. She didn't do anything. She just kept walking. What the heck is wrong with people? How can you just walk away? And act like nothing is happening?
An elderly couple were passing by the car. So I tried again. "Please help me! Hello!" And they didn't do anything! They didn't even acknowledge my presence. I better just stop. For now at least.
I wait for about another 30 minutes for Jay to return.
"Did you have fun?" He asked me when he got into the car.
"Yeah, sure."
"Do you like the anti-wreckage windows? And there soundproof!" He smiled maniacally to himself. He could have told me that earlier. Then I wouldn't have wasted my time. "I knew you were smart. That's why I went through the trouble to get that."
"Lets go get dinner." I didn't bother asking where. But I found out soon enough. McDonald's. I thought that place was disgusting. So much grease and calories and fat. He forced me to get chicken nuggets though. We started to eat in the parking lot.
"So Crystal, is that boy, Connor, your friend? Or something more?"
"Ha. Just my friend."
"Is your mother good to you?"
"Yes, duh..."
"I'm sure Frankie will be even better!"
"No. No one will ever replace her." Was this his attempt at getting to know me? This was pretty sad.
"Do you have any siblings?"
"I thought you knew everything." I said.
"Well do you?"
"Uh, no. I'm an only child." I only did this to protect Leah and Trevor. I didn't want him to find them and take them too. It would be all my fault if that happened.
We finished eating and started driving back to his house.
"We're back Frankie!" He announced as we arrived. I took off the coat I was wearing and threw it on the recliner. I sat down in it. What a tiring day.
"Oh, it's barely 8 o'clock. Come on!" Jay picked me up and tossed me over his shoulder. This reminded me so much of my dad. He would always do this. Except I would enjoy it. This was not enjoyable.
"Alright, take off your clothes." Jay said as he put me on his bed.
"What?" I said, voice shaking.
"You should have known this was coming. Now do it."
