Renn arrived exactly on time. That was the first thing she noted. Not early, which would have indicated eagerness. Not late, which would have indicated the kind of power play that she had assessed him as too intelligent to attempt at this stage. Exactly on time, which told her he had thought carefully about what signal he wanted to send and had chosen precision. She respected that. Rafe showed him into the working room rather than the kitchen. She had made that choice deliberately. The kitchen was hers and Damian's, the domestic centre of the house, and she was not prepared to give Renn that particular kind of access again.
