It has been a week since Astrid encountered Rowan. After their nerve-wracking argument, Rowan steered out of her way.
There was no sign of him in the mansion he had locked her in. Astrid felt dejected and depressed from everything he was doing to her.
She even went ahead to go on a hunger strike. If he wasn't going to show up and take responsibility for what he has done, then she would do the unforgivable.
"Young Miss, please let us in. Mr. Wade will kick us out if he finds out that you starved yourself for a week," A maid complained, banging at Astrid's door.
Rowan had left her and some other maids in charge of Astrid's welfare until he came back.
