I opened my eyes.
For several seconds, I simply lay there, blinking as I tried to make sense of what I was seeing.
Two enormous bluish-grey paws filled my vision.
I stared at them.
Then I blinked again.
Those are mine.
A strange sense of wonder swept through me.
I tried to push myself upright, but my legs seemed to have developed a mind of their own. I wobbled, stumbled, and promptly collapsed back onto the floor.
“Okay… apparently walking is going to take some practice.”
I tried again.
This time, I managed to get onto all four paws, although I swayed precariously for several seconds before finally finding my balance.
“Oh, wow…”
Shari’s awestruck whisper drew my attention.
She had walked over and was standing directly in front of me, staring.
“Your wolf…” Her eyes wide
