“Nice work, Sandi.”
Zelda gave me a pointed look, one eyebrow arched in disapproval.
“The kitchen staff will take care of the dishes and clean everything up. Your job is to make sure you’re here in time to prepare the Alpha’s lunch.”
I nodded, already looking forward to the moment I could escape the kitchen.
“But,” she continued, “I have one piece of advice for you.”
“Uh-oh.”
“You really should read the handbook Alpha Kayden gave you when you first arrived.”
I groaned.
“Because I can guarantee you that Roxy isn’t going to let what happened earlier slide.” Zelda’s expression turned serious. “She’s going to make your life a living hell.”
I stared at her.
“So, if Roxy has already decided to make my life hell, exactly how is reading a handbook going to stop her?”
