Zelda handed me a new knife and said, "You better get to work. Alpha Kayden is already angry, best not to make him angrier than he already is."
Taking the knife she had given me, I began cutting the meat from my assigned carcass once more. The kitchen was quiet, apart from the sounds of meat platters being changed as required. I was cutting steaks off my carcass when I heard the now familiar voice say, "Well, aren't you just a box of surprises?"
"Meaning?" I whispered.
"Well, I have been trying to figure you out. I was wondering if you were all talk, no bite. But now I know that you have some bite to you. It's good to know," the voice replied.
