I waited near Alpha Kayden's office, peering out and quietly keeping watch until I saw Sandi leave his office. The look upon her face, and the way she leaned against his office door told me that things had not gone smoothly for her during their private discussion. I kept watching as she began to walk down the hallway and away from Alpha Kayden's office without a backward glance. The moment she was out of sight, I walked over to the door of the Alpha's office and lightly knocked.
"What now?" Alpha Kayden growled.
I opened the door and snuck inside. Alpha Kayden looked up as I entered. The look upon his face told me what I had already gathered from Sandi's expression when she had left. Things had not gone well.
