Chapter 9

1070 Words
Sandi After we had finished our meal, I looked at my parents and smiled. "Thank you for bringing me here, guys. It is good to finally be able to see what this place is really like. So far, I have only ever been able to imagine it. And honestly, it is better than I had ever imagined, and the food was incredible as well," I told them, giving them a bright smile. "We knew how much you have always wanted to come here," my mother said, a happy smile upon her face. "Every time we would drive past this place, your eyes would be glued to it. You would be in the car with your face pressed up against the window staring at this place with such longing in your eyes. I swear kiddo, watching you like that, it was like watching a little kid gazing at Santa Claus. This place was something that you were so hung up on even from a young age. It was almost like this place was calling out to you or something. You clearly wanted to experience this place. So we figured that today we could make it happen. We are so proud of you honey. You have grown up to become a beautiful, smart, capable young woman," my father added, his eyes getting watery as he fought to control his emotions. "Oh, stop it. Enough with all this praise. You will make her blush," my mother told him as she swatted my father's shoulder playfully. My father looked at my mother and said, "Now, now, dear. There is nothing wrong with a man telling his daughter that he is proud of her. In fact, I am sure if you were to look it up, you would find it in the father's handbook." "Well, no... you're right, there's not. But for heaven's sake, must you embarrass the poor girl?" my mother hissed. "Mom, stop it. He is not embarrassing me," I told her, wishing she would stop causing problems where none existed. "Oh come now, honey. It's okay. You can be honest," my mother stated, looking directly at me. "I am being honest with you. He wasn't embarrassing me. But you sure are. Why are you being like this?" I asked her. "Being like what?" she asked, her face a mask of fake innocence. "You know what I mean," I told her. "Today is an important day for me. Please don't ruin it for me." "Okay, let's head home," my father suddenly stated as he signaled for the check. Once the check was paid, we walked outside to my dad's car. As I was walking out of the restaurant's front door, I looked back towards the table where the hot guy was sitting with his friends. He was still sitting there, and his eyes met mine. I looked at him for a brief moment before my father placed his hand on my shoulder and pushed me out the door. The door closed behind us with a soft thud, and the three of us made our way across the parking lot towards my father's car. Alpha Kayden I watched as the girl and her family got up from their table and walked out of the restaurant. As she got to the door, the girl looked at me and her eyes met mine. As I held her gaze, I could feel Steel fighting to take control. He wanted to teach her respect for her superiors. "She doesn't understand our ways," I reminded him. "Well, she will understand them soon enough," he replied, surprising me. "What does that mean?" I asked, confused by his statement. "I want her. I want her in our pack," he stated, his voice making it clear that there would be no arguments about this statement. "If you want her to be taken to our pack, then I will make sure she is chosen to come to our pack," I assured him. "Good. When she gets back to our pack, she will be our personal slave. She will be ours, and ours only," Steel stated. "Okay. Noted," I assured him. "So, what are the plans for the rest of the day?" Liam asked, cutting in on our conversation once more. "Looking at girls and hoping there are plenty of hot ones we can choose from," Caleb said with a laugh. "I'm sure there will be," Liam assured him. "It's not only about the looks. We need the girls we choose to be strong. They need to have substance and stamina. If they don't, then they will just die, and we will be in the same predicament of needing more slaves," I reminded them. "Well yeah. But if they are pretty it helps. Don't want to be staring at ugly girls all day," Caleb said, chuckling quietly. "Well, you shouldn't be staring at girls all day anyway. You have work to do. You're the pack gamma," I reminded him. "Alpha has a point, Caleb. But in saying that, Alpha. Caleb has a point too. We don't want to be surrounded by ugly girls. So, please, give us some pretty girls to look at," Liam pleaded, as he looked at me and gave me his best puppy dog eyes. "Well, you will both be there. You can point out girls that catch your eye, and we can make sure they are physically able to handle the workload that will be expected of them," I told them. "So... about the girl that was just here. What are your thoughts on her?" Liam asked as he looked at me seriously once more. "Yeah, she was hot!" Caleb stated, giving a low whistle. "Yeah, she will be going with us. Steel has made it clear he wants her there. He took offense to her making eye contact on several occasions just now," I admitted. "Oh man. Sucks to be her," Caleb stated, laughing at the thought of Steel harming the girl. "Steel wants to teach her a lesson," I stated. "One she won't forget in a hurry, I am sure," Liam murmured. I wasn't surprised by their words. They knew what Steel was like when he was mad. They feared him, and rightly so. But despite how much they feared him, they had no empathy for anyone who ended up on his bad side. They were just glad it wasn't them on the receiving end of his punishment.
