Chapter 1 - The Begining

22 years ago - Hospital de Barcelona

Eli Segura, pregnant (already in childbirth) and with her husband Jaime Segura Putellas, arrived at the hospital and were sent back to their room, the husband was always by her side.

Dr Sanchez: Eli is now, I want him to push hard, yes.

Eli: Yeah... haaaahhhh....

Dr Sanchez: More strength Eli.

Eli: Dr, I no longer have the strength to continue.

Jaime: Eli, right now Alexia and Alba are expecting their new little sister, please do it for them.

Eli: I'll do it for them and after that, I don't want to have any more babies, promised Jaíme?

Jaime: Of course I love it!!!

Eli: Dr I will do my best to get the baby out, yes Dr?

Dr: Push now Eli, you want to see your daughter do it for her!!!

Eli: ahhhhhh.....

Dr: Eli and Jaime introduce your daughter!!!

Eli+Jaime: That's the most beautiful thing in the world!!!

Jaime: Dr, you can take a picture and make her a member of Barcelona!!!

Dr: Sure, what's the child's name?

Eli+Jaime: Helena

Dr: A beautiful name.

Eli: Thank you doctor.

Dr: You're welcome, I'll take the picture ok.

Jaime: Thank you doctor!!!

Dr: You're welcome.

After 14-20 minutes, the baby was still crying and the doctors did not know what was going on. They did a lot of tests and exams and did not detect anything.(...)

Dr: Does any of you have a history of a family disease that you have and that passed it on to you, just to be sure.

Eli: As far as I know, I've had a food allergy to sugar and broccoli and anxiety since I had Alexia.

Jaime: In my family I had my mother and sister with epilepsy, but the doctor said they were medicated and until today they have not had any attacks. I sometimes have panic attacks. Don't ask me because I don't know.

Dr: Thank you Eli...Jaime, sorry I know it's not difficult but you can come with me to do some tests, it's nothing serious, it's just to see if the baby can have it.

Jaime: Of course doctor. And will my wife stay with her as a doctor?

Dr: Yes, a doctor will be with her.

Jaime: Thank you Dr. Look honey, I don't know what will happen, but in the end we're OK together.

Eli: Together forever, Jaime!!!

Dr: Well let's do it.

Dr and Jaime said goodbye to Eli and the baby and went to the 3rd floor to do tests (blood, electrocardiogram and MRI). Of the latter two, Jaime had fits in which he had to be supported by the assistants. After that, the Dr stopped Jaime before entering the elevator.

Dr: Jaime, you know that the exams are not good for you or your daughter. Do you know that right?

Jaime: Yes, doctor, I know that, but when I was a teenager (from 7 to 28 years old) I had epilepsy, I took the medicines that my doctor prescribed and since then I have had a crisis again, until the assistants told me that I was ready to leave.

Dr: Umhh... Jaime you should have told me before, not now. You know I'll have to tell your wife the truth and also about the exams right?

Jaime: Yes Dr, I know that, but please don't tell me about the accident please?

Dr: Very well, I don't say anything about the accident. Yes.

Jaime: Thank you Dr.

Dr: Well, let's go upstairs.

Jaime: Of course.

Already in the room, the Dr tells Eli all, in which she notices, and accepts her husband's apology and wishes them both well and says they could leave for 2 hours. But both had a question: how to take care of a baby with panic attacks and epilepsy? They already knew the answer: calling a relative.

Eli: Sure you want to call your brother and his wife and say - look, we don't want to keep the baby, or do you keep her or send her up for adoption? is this James?

Jaime: Yes it is, I didn't want to do it to our daughter, but they will give her all the support. You know that right.

Eli: Of course I know Jaime, but I didn't think about looking at the baby and for some hours she was not in my lap anymore. How are Alexia and Alba going to think about this, say we lost the baby?

Jaime: I know it's not easy for you, but it won't be easy for my sister either. You know that, right?

Eli: Of course I know Jaime, you know we're going to have this weight forever, you know that?

Jaime: Of course I know.

Eli: All right, call your brother and ask her to bring the woman with him ok.

Jaime: Yes, I'll call right away.

Jaime called his brother (this brother who was working at mana's company, asked to leave because he had family problems and asked to leave for 3 hours) and he said he would be on his way with his wife in 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, the brother and the wife entered the room and saw their faces, they talked for an hour and a half, and agreed on a condition they would adopt the baby and whenever there were birthday parties they would be there , Eli and Jaime agreed. After that, the brother asked them to go with them to a court to finalize and they agreed, in 50 minutes they did all this, the brother hid the paper for no one to see, after that they arrived home.
