I stayed on the bed longer than I meant to. Not because I was tired, but because I didn’t know what to do with myself yet. My back pressed into the mattress, my knees pulled closer, while my fingers nervously twisted into the sheets. My body was warm, my thoughts scattered, my chest still rising too fast. I pulled the sheet up instinctively, even though Mason had already seen every part of me. Suddenly, I felt shy. It hit me out of nowhere, like embarrassment sneaking in late to the party. Mason noticed. He leaned back against the headboard, watching me with that familiar look.
