CHAPTER 13: A blast from the dead The box gleamed faintly under the morning light. I stood in the middle of my room, staring at the little box that I had carried back to my bedroom. I was wary of it like it might actually start talking, and not playing the familiar soft, haunting tune that Jackson used to hum. The tune filled the room now, and gave off an eerie vibe that made the hairs on my skin stand. But that wasn’t the only thing that was causing the intense racing of my heart.
