There Goes My Everything–––––––– The Loggerheads pub –––––––– Bobby stretched his hands out to Marilyn in a gesture that was almost pleading. Her mouth opened and closed, and he saw spit lining her lips, tiny droplets flying from her mouth across the room. She was screaming, her voice loud and harsh, but he was focused on her twisted-up face, and on her mouth, and he didn’t take in any of the hurtful words she said. He’d become the master of removing himself. Marilyn hadn’t been herself for ages but since she’d given birth to a baby, a surprise to them all, she’d become an unfathomable, emotional wreck and Bobby had no idea what to do to help her. ‘What’s wrong with you!’ she yelled. Then, not getting a reaction, she got closer and closer, her teeth gritted like she wanted to bite him.
