SCENE Loggerheads –––––––– Sian sat on the sofa with her plastered leg stretched over the arm. Kris was standing up, bouncing on his toes. Elvis whined, scratching at the bottom of the door. He barked, but backed off as a youngish officer in uniform walked in, followed by a man of about Sian’s age. The woman smiled at Sian, then held her head to the side.
