Chapter 6October 13th, Friday Afternoon "We can go now. I don't need to take the test right now. Why don't we just go home and eat birthday cake?" Mom gave me a look. It's amazing how mothers can do that. With one look she told me there wasn't any chance that we were bailing on the test. Not after everything I had put her through. I settled back into my seat and waited for my number to be called with all the enthusiasm of a condemned prisoner. I don't know what had happened.
