"Maggie!" I shouted her name. No reaction. Okay. Maybe I should stick with what I was familiar with. I hit the door frame again. It wasn't as loud as the last time but she was right there, inches away. Maggie jumped back from the door. Her hand flew to her mouth. She looked scared but there was no doubt that she had heard the knock. I raised my hand to hit the door again. "Gavin!" Maggie shouted. I didn't knock.
