Even though I hadn't seen War of the Dead Things I knew the story was different than the others. I'd picked that up just from comments over the years. Unlike the previous movies it didn't take place in the United States. Roland flew to Afghanistan after hearing reports that the military there was using the dead in their conflicts. Roland's crew accompanied a US Army patrol of one of the towns in the area under conflict for two days. It's a very different movie, I'll say that, and disturbing. The Inquisition had people on the ground but it was difficult to track down the people responsible. Unlike the incidents in the first two movies there wasn't a big flock of zombies conveniently leading the Inquisitors to the witch. Roland caught several attac
