The next evening, a military vehicle pulled up in front of the hospital. One soldier exited the vehicle then the driver drove around to find a parking place.
Brian was waiting in the lobby on the lookout for Matt. He smiled at this showing of prestige. “How are you, Captain?” he asked with a grin as he held out a hand to Matt.
“I’m doing good.” responded Matt. He gave his own grin and pulled Brian into a hug.
“How’s Daniel doing?” he asked.
“I think he’s doing better. The blood thinner seems to be working, but he’s still in a coma.” Brian told him as they headed for the elevator to go up to Daniel’s room.
“Look who’s here,” announced Brian as he preceded Matt into Daniel’s room.
Everyone looked toward him expectantly.
