Valerie returned to the Gallery. She went in the back room to find Cindy. “Hi, do you need any help?”
Cindy looked up from the paperwork she had in her hand. “No, I’m almost finished with this. Did Marcus get off alright?”
“Yes, he’s on his way back to Denton,” Valerie said. She looked away as she spoke. She was missing Marcus so much and he had just left.
Cindy observed Valerie’s downcast face and reached for some more paperwork to do. She handed the papers to Valerie. Valerie looked at the papers and then at Cindy. “What are these?” she asked.
“Those are the papers for tomorrow’s shipment. I thought you could look them over and see if I missed anything.”
