She turned around to look at him as she answered.
“I’m telling Mr Rockworth that Matthew took advantage of Anthony. You know exactly what I am saying - sexually. Matthew took advantage of many younger members - male and female.”
“Which you did what to stop?”
“At the time, nothing. I don’t mean to offend you, Mr Rockworth, but Anthony’s s****l orientation was far from clear. It was not at all obvious that a relationship with Matthew would be harmful - it might even have been what Anthony needed in the longer term, love and stability from an older man.”
As she spoke, she had turned back to Rockworth but it was Berlinger who continued to interrogate her.
“That’s not what you’re saying, Cassandra, nothing about love or stability. You said Matthew abused a lot of the young members.”
