📖 CHAPTER XVI THE ROYAL WRATH The ground trembled as the two forces collided. The sound of snarls, clashing steel, and powerful impacts filled the air. It was chaos, beautiful yet terrifying. But amidst all the confusion, my focus remained sharp. I could see everything. I could feel every movement. Lance fought like a demon beside me. His sword flashed through the air, taking down enemy after enemy. He was a whirlwind of silver fur and deadly skill. Every time an enemy tried to approach me, Lance was there to cut them down, protecting me with his life. "Watch your left!" Lance shouted, pushing me aside just in time to block a heavy strike from a large rogue warrior. I regained my balance and didn't hesitate. I lifted my hand and sent a burst of golden light straight at the attacker. The force hit him squarely in the chest, throwing him backward several meters until he crashed into a tree, motionless. I panted slightly, looking at my hands. It felt natural now. Using this power didn't tire me; it fueled me. "Good job, Elana!" Richard yelled from somewhere to my right, also fighting fiercely. "Hit them hard!" I looked around. Our warriors were fighting bravely, but the enemies were many. They were trained killers, and they didn't seem to feel fear or pain. They just kept coming, wave after wave. But then... I felt it. A dark presence. Stronger than the rest. Evil. I looked towards the front lines where the leader in black was standing. He wasn't fighting yet. He was just watching me with those cold, calculating eyes. And then, he started walking towards me. Slowly. Menacingly. "Lance!" I called out. Lance immediately looked back and saw the leader approaching. His eyes widened in alarm. "Elana, stay back!" he tried to rush towards me, but two huge warriors blocked his path, forcing him to engage them again. He was trapped. The leader stopped just a few feet away from me. A wicked smile spread across his face. "Amazing," he whispered, his voice sounding like grinding stones. "The power... it is even more beautiful than the legends described." "Who are you?" I asked, my voice steady despite the fear trying to creep into my heart. I stood my ground, letting my golden aura flare brighter, pushing the darkness away. "I am the one who will take what belongs to me," he said. "I am Voren. And you, little princess... you are the key to everything." "I am not your key," I spat out. "I am Elana, the Luna of this pack. And you are trespassing." Voren laughed, a sound that made my skin crawl. "Luna? You are more than that, child. You hold the power to rule over all creatures. With you by my side, or with your blood in my veins... I will become a god." He raised his hand, and suddenly, dark purple energy gathered in his palm. It felt cold, heavy, and wrong. It was the opposite of my light. "Now... come with me," he commanded. "No," I said firmly. I thrust my hands forward, unleashing a massive beam of pure golden power straight at him. The light was so bright it lit up the entire battlefield like the sun. Everyone stopped fighting for a second, blinded by the radiance. But Voren didn't even flinch. He simply raised his own hand and absorbed my attack with his dark energy. The two powers clashed, creating a shockwave that blew away everything around us. "Not bad," Voren grinned. "But not enough." He pushed back, and I felt a tremendous force hitting me. I was thrown off my feet, sliding across the grass until I managed to stop myself by digging my heels into the dirt. "Elana!" I heard Lance scream my name, desperation lacing his voice. I wiped a small trickle of blood from my lip. He was strong. Stronger than I expected. But anger started to burn inside me. Anger for hurting my pack, for threatening my mate, for trying to take away my freedom. "You see?" Voren said, walking closer step by step. "You cannot win. Surrender, and I will make it quick." I slowly stood up straight. My body was aching, but my spirit was burning brighter than ever. I closed my eyes and reached deep inside. I connected with my wolf, with my bloodline, with the ancient power sleeping in my soul. I am the heir. I am the protector. This is my destiny. When I opened my eyes, they were no longer just brown or gold. They were shining with pure, divine light. My whole body was enveloped in an armor of golden energy, making me look like a goddess of war. "You are right," I said, my voice echoing not just from my mouth, but from everywhere around us. "I cannot win... alone." I raised my hands to the sky. "Moon Goddess... lend me your strength!" I prayed. Suddenly, the clouds above parted. Even though it was daytime, a brilliant silver light descended from above, merging with my golden power. The combination was blinding. The ground cracked beneath my feet. Voren finally looked shocked. He took a step back, fear finally showing in his eyes. "Impossible... this is..." he stammered. "This is the power of the Royal Blood," I declared. "And today... it is the last thing you will ever see!" I gathered all the energy into one massive ball in front of me. It grew bigger and bigger, humming with ancient power. "GO!" I shouted, pushing it forward with all my might. The beam of light hit Voren and the dark energy he tried to protect himself with. It was like sunlight melting ice. His defense shattered instantly. The light consumed him, screaming as his power was being purified and destroyed. When the light finally faded, the field was silent. The enemies were all lying down or had run away in terror. Voren was gone, defeated by the very power he tried to steal. I stood there, breathing heavily, my body glowing faintly. Lance rushed towards me immediately, catching me in his arms before my legs could give up. "Elana... you... you did it," he breathed out, looking at me with eyes full of tears, love, and absolute awe. "You saved us all." I leaned against him, exhausted but happy. "We did it," I whispered, smiling weakly. "Together."
