đź“– CHAPTER XIII
THE TRAINING GROUNDS
The morning sun was shining brightly, but the air was filled with tension. Everyone in the pack was moving with purpose, checking weapons and strengthening defenses. But my focus was only on one thing—mastering the power that now flowed within me.
We went out to the training grounds. It was an open field surrounded by tall trees, perfect for practicing.
Lance stood a few feet away from me, his arms crossed over his chest, watching me intently.
"Close your eyes, Elana," he instructed gently. "Clear your mind. Feel the energy inside you. It is not something foreign... it is part of you. It is your blood, your soul."
I did as he said. I took a deep breath and let everything else fade away. I focused on that warm, golden light inside my chest. It felt like a sleeping dragon, waiting to be awakened.
"Now... try to move it. Guide it to your hands," Lance said softly.
I imagined the light flowing down my arms, gathering in my palms. At first, it was just a faint glow. But as I concentrated harder, it grew brighter and warmer.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a burst of golden energy shot out from my hands, hitting a large tree trunk in the distance. The tree shook violently, and leaves fell like rain.
I opened my eyes wide, staring at my hands in shock.
"Did... did I do that?" I whispered.
Lance walked towards me, his eyes shining with pride and amazement.
"You did, my Queen," he said, smiling broadly. "That was incredible. You have a natural talent for this."
"But it feels... overwhelming," I admitted, looking down. "What if I lose control? What if I hurt someone?"
Lance stepped closer and held both my hands.
"That is why we are training," he said firmly. "To learn control. But remember, this power is good. It is meant to protect, not to destroy. You have a pure heart, Elana. That is why the Goddess chose you."
Just then, I felt a sudden chill. It wasn't cold outside, but I felt it deep inside my mind.
They are getting closer.
I looked up at Lance, my expression serious.
"They are coming, Lance. I can feel them. They are not far anymore."
Lance’s expression turned dark and protective. He pulled me close to him.
"Then we will be ready," he growled. "Let them come. This time... they will face the wrath of the Royal Blood."
