Bond

Loic's POV

I had tried to come up with something that would make her glad when she was out, but when her eyes fell on her family. I could tell she wasn't so pleased to see them here.

She halted, and I knew that she had chosen a gown so similar to the lingerie she had on last night.

I didn't want to think about the possibility that she had selected one deliberately, because she wouldn't be that way.

She was different, I had taken her innocence, and now I could be the only one who would taint her, and I was going to do so to my satisfaction.

"Mother, Marlow, Margot." She called before taking a seat at the far end from me when I pointed at the seat close by.

" You can't do that." Astrid noted as she let me know. "She is to sit far away from us, as that will make her know the position that she is holding and what exactly she is here for."

I turned to Astrid. My hands holding hers. "It's just a seat, and it wouldn't cause any harm."

She pouted before stabbing into her plate as she continued digging into the plate in front of her, one she was barely eating from at all. I would talk to her, but that would be later, after I had informed Adele of the reason her family is here.

" Loic," she acknowledged.

" Loic?" Astrid slammed her hands on the table, standing upright as she fumed with rage. "You are to address him as Alpha Loic. What do you mean by Loic? Have you forgotten your place so soon and would like to be taught manners?"

" I instructed her to do so, Astrid."

Astrid turned to me, her face flushed with betrayal, pain and rage at what I had done. It was just a name, and it had nothing to do with anything.

" The least I could do is try to get her to do that. It didn't make sense for her to call me Alpha Loic after how intimate we have been."

" I don't want to hear anything about you both being intimate, and it was just one night, Loic. One night."

" There would be many of them, and you know that, so the least I could do was make sure that there wouldn't be any barriers between us both, and that's it. There's nothing else that it would cost."

She scoffed, flipping her head to the side before she dug back into her food, barely eating a bite but taking it in.

I knew she was watching, wanting to know why I had called this meeting, why Adele's family was here barely a day after we had had s*x, if there was something that had occurred that she had to be careful of.

She was being careful, marking her territory, but I was always going to be hers, so I couldn't understand why she was doing that.

All I had with Adele was s*x, and there would be nothing else; feelings were out of it, as it was almost impossible to fall in love with her, and I wasn't going back or having any thoughts about that.

" You raised her up, didn't you?" I asked Cayla, who had been said to be Adele's stepmother. I could still recall her when she had raced in demanding to have her daughter's dead body, who had very much turned out to be alive and my choice.

" I did Alpha Loic. Is there a problem?"

" No. I wanted to commend you, as it wouldn't have been an easy feat to do so, especially when she has been found impeccably clean and with her chastity intact."

" Her chastity intact?" She questioned as though it was a shock to her, which didn't fall out of notice with me. It was almost as though she had no idea what it was that I was talking about.

" Yes, her chastity is intact. You had no idea about it?"

" No. That's not it, Alpha. I know she has always been that way. She has always been conscious, and I kept hammering on how important it would be for them all to be that way, as it is appreciated. I am glad that she was found to be a virgin, untainted."

" And that is why I called you all here today. She has found my favor, and you all know what happens to those who I have found worthy enough to be favored. She is going to get the respect accorded, be addressed as my lady by everyone, and that includes you all, and she will move into my quarters, just beside my room."

"You can't." Astrid countered. "There is no way you can do that, that room is reserved for your Luna, which I am to be immediately when she gets pregnant with an heir, and you know that, so what is this talk about her moving into your quarter when I haven't done that yet?"

" Astrid, you are to be with me in the same room when I have finally made you my Luna. Do you think I will sleep in different rooms with my Luna? Come off it. I am not going to let that happen, and you should know that as well."

" Even at that, I am not going to allow it, there is no way this is going to happen, and you should know that. I am not going to let that happen." She stood up, the chair creaking as she did, before she walked away, her steps firm.

Turning to Adele, I mustered up a smile, one that she returned, and it had me thinking back to last night.

" Eat up. I know how much I exerted your strength last night, and you will need to replenish it, as I will call on you tonight as well. Your things are being moved as we speak, and if you want anything else, all you have to do is ask and you will get it. I have to talk to my Luna now, so you bond with your family."
