In her honor

Ophelie's POV " This is supposed to be mine. All of these are supposed to be mine, and they aren't supposed to be yours in any way, and yet, you are the one getting them all. How exactly were you able to get him to like you? When everyone detest you so much?" Margot couldn't help but let out her grievance immediately we were alone. I knew when Loic had said we should bond, it was never going to be possible, but here I was being forced into a room with them. I would have been glad enough to push them away, let them know that they were never going to be welcomed here, but it was just me against three persons, so the least I could do was listen to them blab on and on about how this should have been all theirs. Loic had stunned me, shocked me to the bones when he told me I had been moved to his quarters, and I had been spellbound. My heart warmed at the thought that he had even stood up to Astrid for my sake, but I knew I should prepare myself for even the worst, as she wasn't someone to give up so easily. He was one of her favorite humans, if not the favorite, and I was just being an intruder in what was their space. What she had always known to be their home. To her, I was the one sent to make her unhappy, one who would always make her miserable, and she would never be able to forgive me even in the slightest way, not that I cared. " I am talking to you." Margot tried to get my attention, but my mind was at Loic, who was stomping after Adele, trying to placate her for what would have been my fault. " Like I said, you pale when compared to me, and that must be why you weren't chosen." I said to Margot, who turned to her mother. " Mother. I told you. You said it was impossible, that there was no way Adele would be that way. So what are you saying now? You heard it from her. She called me ugly, and I don't like it." " I didn't." I countered. "All I said was you pale in comparison to me, and that is the truth." " You think you are all that just because you have the Alpha's favor?" Cayla spoke. "You think just because he favors you and no one else, even above his fiancée. You can speak out of point without being punished?" " What do all of you want? As long as I have Loic's favor, no one can harm me, and even if I didn't, none of you can hurt me. I wouldn't cower and beg any of you anymore like I used to. If you hurt me, even if it is a strand of my hair, he will have you all put down, and I will make sure of that." " Mother, can you imagine the atrocities she is uttering?" Marlow uttered, a hand over her mouth as she spoke. "She has some nerve." " I did because I am tired of being treated by you all like I don't matter. Like I am nothing while you all are it all. It hasn't been easy on me, and you know that. You made my life miserable for years, and now you think you can do that here as well?" I questioned. " You think you can come to me and tell me to go home and be replaced by one of you guys, and I will listen? Why? You want me back to where I will be hurt nonstop? Where I will have to do the dishes while you wait for me to carry out every single thing that you think is fit? You think I will race back and let you harm me all over again? What would it be this time? A larger portion of poison than I took earlier?" My stepmother's face paled at my word. " You....how...do...?" " You are shocked? You think I don't know how much the hatred you breed inside of you toward me pushed you to harm me and what you did? You think just because I am calm, I am not going to push for anything?" " You shouldn't talk to Mother that way. She was your legal guidance after Father died, and if she hadn't taken care of you, no one else would have." " You had to do so because of the money Father left me." " Good, ophelie. Good." Clio cheered on. " You had to take care of me until I was of age so you could get the money, and when I did come of age, you took care of me still hoping that others would come and you would suck me dry to the extreme, and that was what you did, and when you couldn't anymore, you tried to kill me." " Adele, shut up." Cayla turned around as she tried to get me to shut up. " You shouldn't say one more word than you already have." " Why?" I c****d my head. "Why should I keep silent just so it would be to your own good? What use do I have for you? I will be glad if Loic can have you killed, but do you know why I won't say a word now?" Margot, Marlow clasped around their mother. " Even death is a light punishment for all that you made me feel, go through all of those years. It is a blessing to you all. I will make sure none of you are hurt because you still have to watch me prosper. You have to watch me get even higher because that is the proper punishment you all deserve, and I am going to give you that." " You can't do nothing, you..." " Leave or..." A tap at the door had my eyes at it. " Yes, come in." " My lady." A guard called out to me. "The Alpha had passed down instructions that a party will be thrown in your honor to introduce you to the people of the pack and that you are to get ready."
