Chapter Six: Shadows of the EclipseThe first light of dawn painted the corridors of the pack house with a golden hue as Morbius prepared himself for his duties as beta. As he made his way through the halls, he crossed paths with Princess Nadia, the fourth daughter of the late Alpha Norman. With her golden locks and radiant blue eyes, she was the epitome of beauty, reminiscent of the late Luna."Good morning, Morbius. How was your night?" Nadia greeted him warmly."Good morning, Princess Nadia. My night was lovely, thank you," Morbius replied with a gentle smile. However, their exchange was interrupted by the arrival of Nina, Nadia's younger sister."If it isn't my sister's lapdog," Nina sneered at Morbius."Good morning, Princess. I see you woke up on the wrong side of the bed," Morbius retorted calmly, refusing to be ruffled by Nina's taunts."Nina, don't be rude to Morbius," Nadia chastised her sister."Oh, sister, don't get involved. This doesn't concern you," Nina shot back before Morbius tactfully excused himself from the conversation."Bye, then, Morbius. See you around," Nadia bid him farewell as she departed, leaving Morbius to deal with Nina's lingering hostility."Watch your back, dog," Nina muttered angrily as Morbius walked away, his patience wearing thin."That's rich coming from a barking dog. Stay out of my way, Princess," Morbius warned her before heading towards the training ground.Upon arriving at the training ground, Morbius witnessed Nelly, the alpha, demonstrating her formidable combat skills. With precision and power, she dispatched two pack warriors effortlessly before turning her attention to Morbius."Oh, Morbius, you're here early," Nelly greeted him as she stepped out of the training ground."Good morning, Alpha," Morbius responded respectfully."We have much work to do, Morby. The Alpha King and the other alphas will be arriving soon to offer their condolences for the loss of the late Alpha Norman," Nelly explained, her tone grave."Yes, I've already made arrangements for their stay and entertainment. Binny and her sisters are planning something significant, and Princess Nadia will be joining them for rehearsals tomorrow afternoon. Meanwhile, Lord Dendridge is overseeing intensive training for the warriors," Morbius reported, his mind already focused on the tasks at hand."Wow, you've done all this in one night?" Nelly marveled at Morbius's efficiency."No, I anticipated something like this happening and prepared in advance," Morbius replied confidently, his dedication to his duties evident."Thank you, Morbius. You truly are what an alpha needs," Nelly acknowledged, her appreciation clear."Ah, one more thing. We need to check on the borders and ensure the guards are vigilant," Morbius added, his attention turning to his phone as he accessed the pack's security protocols."Morbius, there's something else. I'm at a loss for what to give Nadia for her birthday in two days," Nelly confided in Morbius, her concern evident."Don't worry, Alpha. After the border patrol, we can go shopping for her. After all, this may be her last birthday in the pack," Morbius reassured her, his determination to make Nadia's birthday special unwavering. As they set off to attend to their duties, Morbius couldn't shake the feeling of impending change looming over them. The air crackled with tension, and a sense of unease settled in his gut like a heavy weight.Little did he know, the events of the coming days would test their bonds and alter the course of their destiny forever. Shadows lurked in every corner, and whispers of treachery danced on the wind. But amidst the uncertainty, Morbius remained steadfast in his determination to protect his pack and those he cared about. With each step forward, he braced himself for the challenges that lay ahead, knowing that the true test of their strength and unity was yet to come.As the sun rose higher in the sky, casting its golden light over the pack house, Morbius steeled himself for the trials ahead. For in the heart of the Eclipse pack, a storm was brewing, and only time would tell if they would emerge unscathed.
