Tom insisted on taking Roxanne to his house, claiming he had top-notch security. He also offered to let her father stay, thinking the loan shark and his men might come after him now that Roxanne and Tom had gotten away. Roxanne's father declined, claiming he knew a place where he could stay, convincing them he'd be okay. Driving up to a black iron gate, Tom gave him a code and the gate slowly swung open. Roxanne's father dropped them off in front of Tom's place, a stately stone home set back from the road. While it wasn't quite a mansion, it certainly looked too big for one person. “Thanks, Dad," Roxanne said as she climbed out of the car. She walked over to his open window and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “I'm so glad you came." He forced himself to smile, pain lingering on his face.
