For Your Love

Everyone looked above and beyond for her. The cars that had taken her had been abandoned and no fingerprints were found inside. We lost track of where they could have taken her or who exactly they were.

We are all trying our best but who ever took my wife was very careful and didn't leave us much to go on. With every passing moment the fear of anything happening to her fills me with dread. I am not a very prayerful person but I have lost count of how many times I have prayed for God to protect Maja since her disappearance.

The memories of our time together kept replaying in my mind over and over again making me restless. The police have told me and Clara who came over to support me that who ever took her is not interested in a ransom that is why they haven't called with any demands. If they are not interested in money then what in the world do they want with her. 

No one has had a minute rest since the k********g everyone is busy doing all they can to help find her. More and more resources have been put together just for this purpose.

Clara came and sat next to me with a glass of water and my medication " you need to take your medicine or you will get sick Adrian." 

"I don't want to take anything, I am fine you don't need to worry about me." I saw the worried look on her face and took the medicine. She left the room before coming back with a tray of food. How can she expect me to eat when Maja is missing." It is not right to take medicine without food so please have a bite."

"I don't want to eat Clara!" I shouted but she completely ignored me and used that opportunity to slip food into my mouth. I swallowed the food and growled at her. "What! I am only trying to help you, how will you look for your wife if you don't even have the energy to get out of bed. Now be a good boy and eat your food or else I will keep feeding you."

"I am not a child for you to treat me like this..." She cut me off by putting food in my mouth again. I give up I don't think that she is going to leave me alone until I eat. I take the plate from her and eat the food because it is embarrassing to have her feed me. "Do you think she has had anything to eat ?" I asked her while thinking about Maja. I am scared for her, I want her to be found and to be safe right here by my side.

"I am sure that she is fine because she is not just brave but also very strong. You know to be honest with you I am more afraid for the kidnapper than I am for her." She said with so much confidence that my heart relaxed a bit. "You might not remember this but Maja is kind of a pro when it comes to teaching people a lesson with her fist. So don't worry we will find her soon.

I know that she is only trying to be a good friend by consoling me but I can't help but worry. If anything happens to her I will never be able to forgive myself. I was the one who took her to that place so I am responsible for what happened. I should have been careful and I should have taken extra care of her.

I finished eating the food and gave her back the plate. She and I stayed together for a while in silence as she refused to leave me alone. She claims that I need to have someone with me taking care of me at all times. She refuses to listen to me and does whatever she thinks is best and I am tired of arguing with her because I know I won't win. So why fight a loosing battle, it is simply a waste of energy.

She turned on the television and played a movie on Netflix called daredevil. About a blind superhero who beats the s**t out of bad guys despite being blind. I tried to watch the movie but my mind kept drifting off to Maja and what she must be going through at the hands of the kidnappers. 

We heard a knock at the door and Clara went to see who it was. She came back with my secretary walking right behind her." Sir, I have come with some good and bad news. Which would you like me to start with."

"You can start with the good news first then the bad one later." I say because sometimes the good news can't sugar coat the bad news and once it is said you can't take it.

"Very well sir, your elder brother just called and told me to inform you that himself together with your other siblings have apprehended the people who kidnapped Maja and have them in custody. The bad news is despite all the interrogation they have done on them there is still no news of Maja's whereabouts. They have searched every location that any kind of link to the kidnappers hoping to find but all there efforts have been in vain."

"Tell me who was it that dared to kidnap my wife," I asked him the tone of my voice getting colder and colder with every second.

"The man in question is known as mr. Antony Ibara, he is the son of the multi billionare mr. Alfred Ibara." I look at him to elaborate on who this Ibara man is and why he did this to my wife. "You may leave and thank you for the update." Clara said before my confusion could be cleared.

"Don't worry I know that you don't remember who he is so I will tell you. He is an i***t who has always believed that you were not the right choice for Maja. He has always had this misconception that Maja's biggest mistake was falling in love with you. He has been in love with Maja since we were children but she never even spared him a minute of her time. He believes that you are the one who took her away from him because he met her before you did. He thinks that he could have been the one she loved had you not appeared in Maja's life. His so called love turned into obsession, you even had to file a restraining order against him to make him stay away from her."

I listen to everything word that Clara said and the rage in my heart increased with every word she uttered. I promise you that i am not going to spare that i***t. I am going to make him wish that he had never set his eyes on my Maja.

I get up and pick up my car keys and walked out of the room with Clara right saying goodness knows what since I tuned her out. I could hardly hear a word she was saying but I was sure she was cautioning against something. She worries way too much.
