“Ready for the road trip?” Jackson smiled at me, showing his perfect teeth as he hopped in the SUV next to the driver. I sat in the back, covered in my blanket, grinning from ear to ear. I must have looked like someone who escaped from the psychiatric hospital, but the excitement just couldn’t be hidden anymore.
“How many hours till we get to Alaska?” I asked impatiently.
“Two hours to the border. The problem is that your mate’s pack is quite far, almost in the opposite side of the Amaroq kingdom. We will need to travel for a day.” I didn’t mind. The most important thing about this whole journey was that, in the end, I would meet him. Dr Marie said that she would give Garrett a call so that he would wait for us in the Crystal Snow pack.
