"Well, it's probably not the wisest decision on my part, but I have to see you. I won't have to do it for long. And your place isn't far away when I'm in my wolf form. But promise me that when you transform into a wolf, you are not allowed to go out, and if you want, go out with the twins." Marvin reminds me.
"Ok". I say it and nod.
"Just first. While you are getting used to it," He amends.
"Sure, I can do that. I think I would be afraid if I were alone anyway."
"Thank you, Jezz; that makes me feel much better." He said
He says so and shows me some of his favorite spots to run. I just take it all in with wide, curious eyes. From the smooth mountains to the rocky areas and will pass the river to drink water. Then go back to the mountain and enter the dense forest. I love this adventurous life, and I felt excited about learning new things. So, I am always ready to be taught.
"So, when will I meet the rest of the pack?" I asked as we walked along the stream.
"As soon as you are ready. They are all excited. You have become a bit of a celebrity," he said.
"Me? Why?" I was surprised.
"It's not like finding a lost member of the pack, but, you are the special one, who is not only Robert's daughter but their new Luna," Marvin says.
"Oh, I see; I hadn't looked at it that way. I don't feel special. I was a little bit nervous, thinking they would consider me a child and an outsider." I confess.
"Not at all; werewolves are always happy to welcome new ones to their pack. Even female humans mate. We are simply happy to extend our family. You know, with us dying out and all," he said.
"How about Sunday?" I asked suddenly, after quietly considering what he had just told me.
"That would be awesome! Mom can't wait to have everyone over for a big party. I will notify the pack. Your mom and dad should come too."
Marvin said excitedly.
"A whole party for me? But I don't want you to spend that much, Marvin" I said.
"Don't worry love, I have enough savings for this. The family will present you as Luna. The most important thing is, we have their support. The announcement is so very important."
"Ok, but can we make it simple?" I asked again.
"Trust me, we love to get together any chance we have. Mom has been patiently waiting for you to be ready." Marvin confesses.
"Okay, Sunday it is then," I said.
We headed back to the house and decided to just talk and get to know each other better. Marvin told me that he had never dated anyone, well, that's a huge relief.
"As werewolves, we wait for our mate. So dating isn't something we generally do." Marvin says. He had no experience with women. But Jolina has taught him how to be thoughtful and respectful.
"We have instructors in the pack who teach the teenagers not only about our wolf but about how to treat our treasured mate," Marvin said.
"Really? Can I meet them too?" I asked.
"Of course! One day, you will be helping them teach the young ones these things." he simple said.
I have no doubt I will be great at it.
"May I ask you something?"
Marvin turned to me with a smile on his face, his eyes shining on me. "What is it?"
"Did you try to date someone at your age?" I asked him. I know it's too early and so personal thing to ask but I can't wait to hear it from him right now.
"No, we are only drawn to our mate. So, it is very rare for one of us to be attracted to someone who isn't. We obviously know what beauty is, and we appreciate it like anyone else, but we don't feel the need to get closer to someone of the opposite s*x who isn't our mate. It is protection for not only our soul mate but also for ourselves"
"Wow, so I will be your first kiss?" I asked with a little shyness.
"Yes, you will. And what about you? Have you ever kissed anyone?"
"Well, there was this one time... we were in kindergarten, and it was just on my cheek, so I don't think it counts?" I said.
Now he is finally laughing at me.
"Very funny, Miss Urdanzo"
"Too bad.." I said.
"Huh? bout what?"
"You call me by that name.." I said.. Then Marvin burst into laughter at me.
At the next moment, Marvin starts sharing his story about his first transition and how he stepped into the Alpha role at just 22. Now, at 28, he’s got quite a journey to reflect on. I make sure to ask plenty of thoughtful questions so I can soak up as much information as possible.
"Do you think it's going to hurt whether I am in shape or not? I mean my body. I'm thinking about how I was looking and feeling." I asked.
"Our training will start on Monday. My brother will be my help; don't forget to inform Tagi" he said.
"It's already midnight; I want to keep talking to you, but we need to rest because tomorrow we will be doing lots of tasks," I suggested, as I was feeling sleepy.
"You are right, of course." He says this as we get off the couch and start walking upstairs. I wish so badly to kiss him and say goodnight. But I will wait.
"Alpha Marvin, can we leave our doors open? I want to feel as much of your presence as possible." I said hesitantly.
"Of course. I am actually considering sleeping on your floor," he admits.
"Really? You should!" I said eagerly.
"Hey, the only thing between us is this one wall. My bed is against it, just like yours. Mom made sure we were as close as possible." Marvin said.
I smiled brightly at what I heard. Jolina seems to know what craziness I feel now for her son.
"Thank you, mine... My Alpha. Hehe. Much help" I said.
"Goodnight. Sweet dreams."
"You too." I said that and went to my room. I leave my door open and change in my bathroom. As I get ready for bed, I think about how much better I feel having him here than on most nights. I breathe deeply when I get into bed. I can still smell him.
"Marvin?" I said quietly.
Touching my soft pillow, imagining that he was lying beside me now. Moments later, I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
"Tok, tok, tok" the sound of my mobile phone.
"Hey! good morning" I said. While my eyes are still close.
"How was your sleep wifey?" Tagi said jokingly.
I knew she was smiling to say the words "wifey". She call me just to check if I was already awake. But I know Mom asked her to call me this way.
"What? oh ahh . no.. no.. Don't call me by that."
"Why? is there anything you want to tell me? "wifey" is good to hear rather than calling you a girlfriend!" Tagi suggested from the line.
"Hmm.. What makes you happy, see you later. Bye!" I cut the line then started to think what is the best for this morning.
I feel so refreshed when I wake up. I jump out of bed and go to my bathroom to shower and get ready. I'm so excited for today. It was like our first actual date. So, I barely squeeze my rounder hips into some jeans and a cute flowy top since I am literally busting out all my t-shirts. "I really need a new bra," I said to myself.
When I saw myself in the mirror, my body changed a lot. This is getting ridiculous!
The Alpha Marvin wing of the house is located on the opposite side from where his family stays. He claimed this space for himself when he became Alpha, saying it was meant to provide privacy for both the Alpha and Luna. However, he wasn't too fond of being so far away from everyone until recently. Now, he admits he sees the advantages of having that distance.
Marvin rushes up the stairs as I start to head down them.
"Jezz! You're up. I made you breakfast." Marvin tells me excitedly.
"Really, I was sure that it was your Mom's cooking that I was smelling."
"She taught me well, and told me that I need to practice my cooking skills in order to impress my mate." He admits.
"Well, let's just go and see how well you impress me, shall we?" I said this as I continued down the stairs. We entered the kitchen together. The twins are already eating.
"We couldn't wait; sorry, Jezz." Joel admitted.
"It's alright. You don't have to wait for me." I said this while Jolina started serving herself.
Marvin sat next to me and placed two fully loaded plates in front of me with fried rice, crispy bacon, over-medium eggs, and crispy dried fish. Then he waits and just watches me as I take my first bite.
"Well?"
He asks eagerly, like a little boy. I slowly take a bite of each item. Then I took a sip of coffee. He is staring at me intently.
"Well..."
I began, then cleared my throat.
"It's delicious! Everything is exactly the way I like it! Did you talk to my parents about this meal?" I asked.
"I may have questioned them just a bit," he admits.
"It's all perfect, Marvin. Thank you so much." I said.
"Oh, one more thing."
He rushes across the room and then presents me with a "biko" , one of the best delicacies in town.
"I picked it up at the bakery. I didn't think I could do this myself," Marvin said.
"Marvin, you are so sweet. Thank you so much." I told him honestly.
"Good job, son." Jolina praised.
So, we all dig in and eat until we are stuffed.
"Let me do the dishes." I suggested, as I started to grab the plates, but Jolina swiftly takes them from my hands.
