Her face was beautiful. Terrifyingly perfect. Too perfect. Like something wearing a mask of a woman. Her eyes are like soulless voids, bottomless wells. I couldn’t speak. “Child of the moon…” she purred, her voice like silk over steel. “You wear the last ring.” I clenched my fists. “This is a dream.” She smiled. “All things begin in dreams. Even gods.” Nyrah began walking toward me. Every step she took, the ground beneath her rotted. “Do you know what they’ve hidden from you? What the ring truly is?” she asked. “It’s a seal,” I replied, trying to sound brave. “To keep monsters like you locked away.” She laughed, a sound that shattered the moon behind her. “Oh, sweet child… you’ve only been told the ending. Not the beginning.” She raised a finger, and suddenly I saw a vision:
