Chapter 7: The Old man’s protective.

Legacy city….

Scarlett mansion's sitting room….

“Dad, mum,grandma, grandpa, am back.” Tina's joyful voice rang out in the spacious and well beautified sitting room, as she skipped and hopped into the room. The figure of three people could be seen seated on the luxurious cushion in the living room, two of the figures were that of a female and the other figure that sat with them was that of a male.

“Oh! My little darling is back, come here and give grandma a hug.” Margaret stood up and opened her arms as Tina rushed in to give her a hug.

“Welcome back darling, how was school?” Nathaniel asked from the side.

“It was fun, I enjoyed it a lot.” Tina spoke with a happy face but only she knew where her source of joy came from.

“You seem more happy than usual, what's the matter?” Nathaniel asked her daughter who was smiling from ear to ear.

“No big deal mum, I am just happy.” Tina replied.

“Oh lest I forget, where are your brothers?” Margaret asked Tina.

“They are still in school I guess.” Tina replied with a straight face without caring if she told another person something else.

“Sigh..my little princess has forgotten her father and no longer cares about me.” Arias' voice sounded from where he was sitting as he stood up and walked towards Tina.

“It's not like that dad, I still care for you.” Tina said as she left her grandmother's arms and leapt into her father's arms and pecked him, Arias smiled happily as he carried her in his arms.

“Greetings grandma,mum, dad.” Adrian greeted the people in the room as he walked in.

“Oh! My good gracious, what happened to you, my child?” Margaret stood up as she walked towards Adrian. He was covered in dust, his well kept hair now looked like a bird's nest and his adorable face was now like that of a beggar on the streets.

“No big deal grandma, I was just playing with Tina.” Adrian managed to flash a smile on his face.

“It seems like she did quite a number on you.” Arias voice sounded out once more.

“Of course dad, I dragged him along as I ran from the school till I reached here.” Tina spoke with a proud face as she stuck her chest out and lifted her head high. Hearing her words, the people in the room couldn't help but pity Adrian.

“My little girl seems to have grown more mischievous, but you need to take it easy on little Adrian you know he isn't as strong as you are.” Arias pinched Tina's cheeks as he reprimanded her a little.

“Ouch! Grandma, grandfather, dad is bullying me.” Tina spoke with an aggrieved face before puffing her cheeks and turned her head away from her father.

“Hmph i will not speak to you again.” Tina said after turning her head away.

“Hehe..” The people in the room laughed as they looked at Tina's cute and adorable expression.

“Hoho … where is my little princess?” At this time the voice of an old man rang out in the living room as Ethan walked in with the butler behind him.His muscular figure straight as usual.

“Grandpa!!!.” Tina left Arias arms as she rushed towards the old man leaping into his arms with a happy smile.

“I missed you grandpa.” Tina said as she mischievously held onto the old man's white beards, twirling and twisting it.

“Hoho… I missed you too dear, so how was school today and where are you siblings?” Ethan spoke in one breath.

“School was fun today,I played a lot with Adi.” Tina replied with a beaming smile on her face.

“Greetings grandpa.” Adrian stepped forward and greeted the Old man.

“Hmmmm..welcome little Adi,you look more miserable than the last few times you guys played, well I hope you are fine?” Ethan asked in a concerned tone as he shook his head.

“No worries grandpa, am alright.” Adrian replied.But how can he be alright? After having been dragged for almost two miles.

“That's good to hear, but my girl you have to take it easy on Adi, you know he isn’t as strong as you.” Ethan spoke to both Adrian and Tina and no longer dwelled on the matter.

“Ok grandpa. Grandpa I am hungry.” Tina replied with a nod before speaking of her food situation spoke as she rubbed her little flat stomach.

“Okay go freshen up and come down for dinner I will have the chefs prepare your best meal.” Ethan said with a doting expression on his face.

“Yea grandpa is the best and he treats me well.” Tina beamed with joy as she heard the old man's words.

The two kids left for their rooms as they ascended the stairs. Few minutes later, Stains and Mark came back from school and also went to freshen up. Four Skies academy dismissed her students by 6:30pm.

Eight o'clock in the evening everyone came down for dinner. The dining Hall of the Scarlet mansion was spacious and magnificent, adorned with luxurious table wares and table mats, the chairs were made with the best furniture materials in the whole of Legacy city, a chandelier hovered over the dining table lighting up the area, bulbs made from gem-like materials adorned the room. Few minutes later the table was filled with every member of the family with Ethan sitting at the head chair while being flanked by his wife and son, food was served and the aroma of fried rice and chicken with different types of food pervaded the air.

“Tina how has your cultivation been as of recent?” Arias suddenly asked out of the blues.

“It's been fine father but it is so boring and tiring I don't want it.” Tina replied in a sour tone while pouting.

“How can you say that? Look your older brothers are all taking it serious, Stains is at the late stages of the eight rank of the Body Refinement realm and Mark is at the middle stages of the sixth rank, but you my precious jewel…..you are just lagging behind and you still plan on slacking off, please my baby girl just do it for dad, please..” Arias pleaded with Tina not noticing the change in atmosphere of the dinning and the strange look he was receiving from the people on the table.

Tina “....”

“To become a strong expert one must—.” Arias began speaking as he tried to put up the demeanor of an expert, but before he could finish his motivational speech the whistling sound of the wind approached his ears as a strong palm connected with his cheeks and sent him flying.

The slap reverberated in the hall as Arias was embedded into the wall with a swollen red cheek on his right cheek.

“Father!!!” Arias shouted with an aggrieved voice.

“Who told you to pressure my little princess, if she doesn't want to cultivate then no one must force her. This old man will just protect her through her life, come here my little darling, come sit on grandpa's lap.” Ethan spoke with a domineering tone towards his son before turning to Tina with a tender smile and a doting look in his eyes.

Everyone in the hall knew that Ethan loved Tina a lot and he doted on her to the point of almost spoiling her, no one escapes the punishment of messing with his treasure, including the house lord, even the jade emperor will not escape if he made Tina sad, worst still make her cry.

The backs of the kids (Stains,Mark and Adrian)in the room were drenched with cold sweat as they sat straight and a single word flashed in their minds.

Fierce.

The old man doesn't give a damn as regards who hurt his granddaughter or made her displeased, only punishment awaits such a person, God have mercy. After the incident they all made a mental note not to make Tina unhappy as they may end up worse than the house lord.

Nathaniel stood up as she shook her head with a smile and went towards the wall to help her husband out.

“Old man you should take it easy on the boy lest you sleep outside the room tonight.” Margaret's voice rang out as she calmly placed the cup of wine she sipped from on the desk. Her caused a chill to run down Ethan's spine.

“Haha..you must be joking darling, I just hit him a little that's all.” Ethan spoke lightly in a low voice as beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.

Everyone knew that Ethan Scarlett was like a tiger to all in the house but before his wife Margret, his overbearing nature and demeanor disappears leaving behind a frightened mouse. She was the only one who could keep him in check in the entire house or probably in the entire Legacy city.
