Aurora stared at the screen of her phone, her fingers tapping restlessly against the material of her bed. She had ended the call with Aurelia Russo after a whole lot more conversation than she had planned.
She had thought talking to her best friend would help her sleep peacefully, but it wasn’t working.
Aurora played the voice note Jonas had sent her a few minutes earlier.
“I’m really sorry for mentioning her name when you clearly asked me not to anymore. I know I haven’t been replying to your texts all day. I’m really sorry, Bel. Can you reply now?”
There was something about the way he called her Bel. Something that enchanted Aurora in the best way possible.
Apart from the voice note, Jonas had sent several messages throughout the day, coaxing her to reply.
