The next day.
Aurelia had her hair packed up in a bun as she stared at the stocked closet. She had no idea Lucian had stocked her closet until she walked into it this morning.
It was filled with designer wears and every single thing was freaking expensive. Aurelia wondered how much he had spent on stocking this huge closet up.
“Whatever amount he spent on this… I doubt I can earn it in three years if I take the jobs I am being offered.”
Aurelia had browsed through the net the previous night and just like before, every well-to-do company had rejected her application and the only ones that had accepted her were a few cafes she had applied to in her desperate moments.
She sighed, shaking her head and finally picked a black fluffy top and blue boyfriend-fit jeans. She returned to the room and decided to call Marcus and know how he was doing.
Marcus picked up almost instantly.
“I was just going to call you,” he said as soon as he picked the call and Aurelia chuckled.
“I beat you to it.”
“So… are you comfortable there?” Marcus asked.
“Fairly well but if I knew it was Lucian, I definitely would not have packed my things,” she replied.
“Lucian is reliable and he is going to treat you well, but I suppose you still remember how he was back in high school. He is still a bit of a playboy and I don’t want you falling for him or anything,” Marcus added.
“I do not have to remind you how much I dislike Lucian, right? He is too wild, too annoying and I don’t like someone who goes around f*****g different women just because he can. I hate him and you know that very well, so you do not have to worry about me falling for him. It will never ever happen.”
“Great. Let me hear you say you hate him once more.”
“I hate Lucian Romano.” She did as he said and she could feel Marcus grinning on the other side of the phone.
“Hate is a strong word there, princess.”
Lucian walked into the room just at the moment. Marcus ended the call suddenly without even a “bye.”
Aurelia dropped the phone.
“I said what I said,” Aurelia replied before her attention was pulled to his looks.
He looked stunning just like every other day. He stood by the door, tall and definitely proud, his broad shoulders emphasizing his masculine frame.
His suit was a perfect one and it hugged his body in all the right places. His tie was neatly knotted, with just the right length, and his dress shirt was crisp and white, accentuating the grey color of his eyes.
His hair was styled impeccably, with just the right amount of product to hold it in place.
“Continue staring, Princess.” Lucian spread his arms with a small shrug.
“I was not staring,” Aurelia lied.
“You always tell the most obvious lies.” Lucian shook his head, walking towards her.
“Where are you going to?” Aurelia asked him.
“To work… You do not think all of my money appeared by magic, do you?”
“Or don’t you want me to leave?” Lucian asked as his tall, masculine figure stopped right in front of her.
Aurelia could breathe in his manly cologne and it seemed like it was cooing her to close her eyes.
“I could stay back if you don’t want me to leave today. No one reprimands or sacks the boss.”
“Go to work. I can’t wait for you to leave. I feel choked up with your presence.” Aurelia looked away from his mesmerising eyes.
Lucian smiled, a small upwards curve of his lips as he pulled away from her.
“You are the only woman I know who would dare to say she hates me and maybe that is because…” He reached his hand to her face and made her look at him.
“What are you doing?” Aurelia could not be gladder that she did not stutter.
Her toes were curling as his eyes stared right into hers, seemingly searching for something she was sure she did not have to give to him.
“Maybe that is because I have never f****d you.” He grinned at her and watched her cheeks redden and her eyes widen with surprise at his choice of words.
Lucian was satisfied, getting the reaction he wanted from her. This was what he had suddenly wanted to see before going off to work.
“What the heck are you saying?” Aurelia meant to yell those words and she could not explain how her voice had come out as soft and thin.
“Maybe all you need to send all of that hatred out of your heart is a good f**k. Your dumb boyfriend is unable to satisfy you, right?” He winked at her and Aurelia shoved him away with all the strength she had in her.
“What the hell are you saying?! Is this what Marcus asked you to do with me? To flirt with me all day?” she asked.
“I was just joking around with you and yes, I love flirting around but you don’t have to worry, Princess. I don’t have s*x with good girls. I prefer my women wild and experienced.”
Aurelia was about to say something but she held back and just glared at him.
“Your jokes were definitely not funny. Let’s make this clear now. What do you see me as?” Aurelia asked him but Lucian gave no response to her, his eyes just roamed her body.
“I am not one of your women.”
“I know that.”
“I am supposed to be like a sister to you, right? And you definitely won’t tell such jokes to your sister, if you had one, right?” she asked.
“You are not my sister and you are not supposed to be one to me.”
Aurelia’s face went blank.
“Then what am I supposed to be to you?”
Lucian’s looks grew serious.
“Less than a woman but definitely not a sister.”
Aurelia could not tell why she felt a bit hurt that he saw her as less than a woman.
“Whatever, you are unreasonable,” she said to him and walked back into the closet, not knowing what more to say to Lucian.
She leaned against the wall and shut her eyes tightly, wondering why she felt that streak of hotness again when Lucian was standing close to her.
“Get a hold of yourself.” She slapped her cheek.
