Chapter Five
They spent the rest of the day at home, relaxing and chatting and drinking tea. At around nine o’clock Laura announced that she going to turn in. Ian immediately offered to join her, in the hope of being put on baby manufacturing duties. Janine volunteered to do some chores.
“I want to start earning my bed and board,” she told them.
After Laura had demonstrated how the washing machine worked and shown her around the kitchen, Janine ushered the politely protesting pair upstairs and set to, on various domestic tasks.
