The sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon, the rays sliding through the blinds illuminating the room enough to see Esme’s body tangled in the sheets. She looked so carefree in her sleep, her features softened just enough for me to see the young girl I once knew. She had changed so much since then. She really found herself in the last few years. It was nice to see her confidence growing again, she was finally seeing the woman I saw when I looked at her. She was also still very much the same.
