Esme The amazing buttery scent of the hot croissants filled the air with just a note of the chocolate tucked inside as I sat the fresh tray on the counter. I think I finally perfected my recipe. They looked and smelled mouth-watering. A light knock sounded on the screen door. “Come in,” I smiled up at the familiar mane of red hair flowing through the breeze. Willow was nothing if not prompt. “Something smells amazing,” she noted, opening the door and making her way to the kitchen where I stood covered in flour and powdered sugar. “I just pulled these out of the oven,” I smiled and dusted some powdered sugar over them.
