CHAPTER ELEVEN:SOMETHING NEW

226 Words
After that moment, everything felt different—but not in a bad way. If anything, it felt… right. Ethan and Aisha didn’t suddenly become a typical couple. There were no dramatic changes, no rushing into anything. Instead, they eased into it, holding onto the friendship that had brought them this far. The next day, when Aisha walked into class, her eyes instinctively searched for him. When she found Ethan already looking at her, she smiled—softly, but genuinely. It was new. It was real. And it was theirs. Later that afternoon, they sat together under their usual tree. This time, the silence felt lighter, almost peaceful. “So… what now?” Aisha asked. Ethan leaned back slightly. “Now, we take it one step at a time.” She nodded. “No pressure?” “No pressure,” he confirmed. A small smile played on her lips. “I like that.” For a moment, neither of them spoke. Then, without thinking too much about it, Ethan reached for her hand. Aisha stiffened slightly at first… then relaxed. Her fingers fit perfectly into his. It was a simple gesture. But it meant everything. Because this wasn’t just friendship anymore. It was something deeper. Something fragile. Something worth protecting. And as they sat there, hand in hand, they both knew— This was only the beginning.
