X's POV When I went through the door I let out the breath that I didn't know I was holding in. I felt so sorry for her, she didn't deserve this, to be cut out of everyone. If I was in her place I wouldn't be able to bear it. The courtyard is starting to fill up with people just looking where to hang, there are still a few hours to go before training. Dragging my feet I go to the monitor center, where I see the doctor, she is just looking at her vitals and seems they are good since she is humming in approval. I look at the monitor that shows Delta pacing around the room, she must be so frustrated with this whole situation. The door behind me buzzes indicating that someone else has checked in the monitoring center. Turning around I see Jo, she was a young psychologist, but if somebody asked me I would say that she was the one in need of a psychologist. Her parents were divorced so she was looking for love in all the wrong places, she was open about her sexuality, also her legs were always open and welcoming. She was unapologetic about who she is, and it was nice to see that in the person. I was probably one of five people who looked at her like she was a lost child since she was younger than me. Jo flashed me a smile but it was like she was more focused on the images of Delta pacing behind me, with a laugh Jo said: "She is quite a firecracker, are you watching this?" Bringing me back to reality with the question I looked behind me and there it was the girl with the brown hair was punching her fist in the monitors and cameras. Not that she was aware of it. "Jesus I need to stop her, she is going to hurt herself" My voice came out with the tone of annoyance but Jo and the doctor didn't react they just stood there watching Delta-like it was the most amusing show. I hurried back to her box, the courtyard was now full of people, I put my finger into the sensor of the door and they unlocked. I pushed them harshly, the noise of the door made Delta stop in her tracks. Our eyes connected, and then she smirked at me and brought her fist again in the broken glass of the monitor. I concluded she was doing this on purpose, but she was a precious job, securing me my freedom. So in one swift movement, I locked her hands beside her body with my own hands. "Calm the f**k down, I know what you're trying to do" I yelled at her, and then something that I couldn't predict happened. Delta started crying and sobbing in my arms. I moved us to her bed, she curled up in the fetus position and continued sobbing, It was like her body was in physical pain. I just sat there, hoping she would stop soon, but it looked like it wasn't going to happen any time soon, so I started patting her head. At that moment I think she even started crying harder, so I stopped and stood up to leave, maybe she would like more to be alone. But then I felt a hand in mine, pulling me to stop, and I turned around to face her. Her eyes and nose were red, she looked broken and lonely, I stopped, but my mouth couldn't form any words of comfort. She was the one to break the silence. Delta's POV "Please don't go" I started, pulling his hand to sit down beside me "I promise, I won't cry anymore and I won't hurt myself. Just please don't leave me alone again. I'm always alone, always in the dark, I'm so confused, just help me, I need some peace of mind. " For a minute I thought he was going to tell me to f**k off but he just sat back with me, and at that moment I was so grateful for him. I observed him until he finally spoke "You are making me uncomfortable."- My face went red and I dropped his hand and moved just a little away from him. "Is this better for you X?" "Yeah, it is. Are you feeling better Delta?" "Maybe a little. I didn't cry like that since I was five years old" I tried to laugh it off. The silence fell again and just when I felt calm all the screens lit up. It looked like an old memory. My mother was packing a bag with clothes, and I was standing there unsure of what is going on. She turned her attention to me, softly speaking "Honey, your dad is not going to be living here with us anymore, and every weekend just like today we are going to pack you and you will be spending the next two days with him. Do you understand?" "Yes mommy but where is your bag?" Mark entered the room being loud and protesting "Don't be stupid Delta, mom isn't going, Dad wants you to have another mother." At Marks's words, little me started crying and sobbing uncontrollably. That was the end of the memory so it started replaying itself from the beginning. I closed my eyes to control my anger. X seemed to notice this, so he started again patting me like a dog on the back of my head. I wanted to argue, to let the frustration out. I glared at him "X, please tell me why I'm here?" His eyes were soft, slowly moving between me and the little girl on the screen then he turned to me "Delta please believe me that I don't understand that either, but I'll try to make this situation more comfortable for you" I could see that he believed in his word, but I knew that I could only rely on myself to get me out of this mess, but for the time being it's not bad to have a little company. He stood up abruptly "You should get some rest Delta, I'll be back, try to tune the video out and sleep." I nodded my head agreeing with him there was no point in arguing I need him to be my friend.
