Chapter 46: Lose Control
(Gabriel's POV)
I paced my private den, my claws scraping the polished oak floor with each step. The sound grated on my ears, but I didn’t stop.
My chest tightened, my breathing uneven. Sarah’s claws might have healed the marks across my throat, but the sting of my conversation with Charlotte was worse.
Her voice echoed in my mind, firm and cold, sharper than I had ever heard it. There was no familiarity in her tone, no remnant of the devotion she once held for me.
"I’m returning your keys," she had said simply. "Our deal is over. You and I are finished."
