The cool night air brushed against my skin as I left the pack building. Shadows stretched long under the dim glow of the overhead lights, and the path ahead felt both eerily quiet and suffocatingly tense. I adjusted my bag, resolving to keep my thoughts focused on my purpose. But the sight of Gabriel’s black car blocking the walkway sent an icy wave of unease washing over me.
